Ecotourism is a part of the world’s environmental solution, rather than the problem, because of its ability to improve understanding about environmental issues. Tourism can be a great storyteller. What better vehicle than to use people’s visits to a country or location to explain the local environmental successes and shortcomings? Tourism Is Part of the Eco Solution, Not the Problem – says the world-renowned environmentalist Professor David Bellamy. - Ecotourism teaches us, and our visitors, about the importance of looking after our environment. It provides employment opportunities for local communities and alternative revenue. Ecotourism abroad
The most favorite tourist place for rest abroad is Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, where you can chat around a campfire, evolve into a discussion on environmental ethics that stays with those travelers for a lifetime. Central & South America are two such regions that are very popular with eco-tourists abroad. Straddling the equator are such bio-diverse hotspots as Costa Rica, the Amazon, and the Galapagos Islands. These habitats are the home of thousands of indigenous species and offer eco-tourists the opportunity to experience a unique landscape while working to protect vulnerable plants and animals.
Sub-Saharan Africa is another popular destination for eco-tourism volunteer work, where many indigenous species are continuously threatened by poaching and other harmful human activities. Africa’s infamous “big five” animals, the lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros, are among the most vulnerable species on the continent. ... Regions of Southeast Asia and Oceania are also increasingly popular destinations for eco-tourism volunteer programs. Regions of the Himalayas, India, and Borneo feature incredibly beautiful landscapes and are home to many exotic species, such as elephants, tigers, and orangutan. The Australian Outback is also a thriving and diverse environment where you can work to protect many indigenous species on this isolated island continent.
Indonesia and Thailand are the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia, with their rainforests and mountain ranges contrasting with stunning beaches. An increasing number of ecotourists also are visiting countries such as Cambodia, Laos, and Nepal — although garbage on the popular route toward Mount Everest has been a problem in Nepal. “Ecotourism involves visiting natural areas with the objectives of learning, studying or participating in activities that do not bring negative effects to the environment; whilst protecting and empowering the local community socially and economically.“ (Cristina, 2014) People`s judgments
Hi fellow travelers! I hope this will get you into gear! I love ecology and appreciate our dear Mother Nature. That is why I always seek places that reveal its original beauty. When it comes to eco - travel, I'd always go for countries - and regions in countries that do not have overdeveloped tourism, and try to travel like a local. So, I suggest - Croatia. Continental Croatia. Places like Gorski kotar, Dalmatinska Zagora, Slavonija, Please, share your suggestions & tips! Happy traveling! Mar 10, 2015, Ognjena People`s judgments
Taking into consideration all mentioned above I would like to say that ecotourism is a part of environmental conversation. When we look for the joys that come with the adventures of traveling, we often envision exciting trips to amazing places fit for a perfect photo, unique foods you won’t find at home. Ecotourism allows us to do more than just learn facts about various locations. It allows us to immerse ourselves into the cultures and lifestyles of other people and leaves impressions that aren’t likely to be forgotten. Conclusion
