Fast food Fast food is a type of food that is prepared and served very quickly, first popularized in the 1950s in the United States. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the customer in a packaged form for take-out/take-away. Fast food restaurants are traditionally distinguished by their ability to serve food via a drive-through. The term "fast food" was recognized in a dictionary by Merriam–Webster in 1951.
The output During the 16th and 17th centuries, England underwent what was known as the Protestant Reformation. This led to food that was plain in flavor, but filling for the English people. During the 18th and 19th centuries, England began to experience greater trade with India. This led to a strong Indian influence and caused the foods to become much more flavorful with many different spices and herbs. During the last part of the 20th century, England experienced more fresh products and more of a desire to eat a healthier diet. The English today commonly eat everything from Italian foods to dishes from India and around the world.
