Pelageya Khanova (July 14, 1986, Novosibirsk, Russia) — a Russian singer. She is a founder and a soloist of the group "Pelageja". She performs Russian folk songs and romances. Pelageya is a unique performer. Becoming a real star of the Russian scene she never tries to be "trendy" and "actual". She always walks her own way and she is always closed for ordinary listeners.
At the age of eight Pelageya entered without exams at the Novosibirsk special music school (College) at the Novosibirsk Conservatory and she became the first student-vocalist in 25-year history of the school.
At the age of nine she met Dmitry Revyakin and he sent a videotape of Pelagia in Moscow. Yuri Nikolaev invited her to participate in “The Morning star", so she took the first place in the competition and she won the honorary title "the Best performer of folk songs in Russia 1996" .
At the age of 10 Pelageya signed a contract with the record Feelee Records label and she moved to Moscow. At the age of 14 she entered the Institute of theatre arts (GITIS). Pelageya became one of the best pupils there.
In 2000 Pelageya created her musical group and in 2003 she released her debut album which included all her songs. In 2005 her group became the first musical group from Russia which was gaving a concert on the legendary stage of the Royal albert Hall. In 2007 the album "Devushkina Song" quickly entered the list of top sellers and it received awards in the categories “The Best rock album of the year", “The best consideration". The song "Cossack" became a hit of the year.
In 2009 the album of the singer "TRAILS“ was published and it became a bestseller. In 2009 the singer participated in the TV show "Two stars" and "Patrimony" and in 2010 Pelageya participated in the Russian production of the Opera vocal improvisation “Bobble” of Bobby McFerrin. Now the star is preparing an another Studio album. It is named “The Cherry orchard".
