  Learning of foreign languages is widely spread nowadays. What do people learn languages for? They want to understand people themselves and theу want people to understand them.

  During the process of globalization the ability to speak English, German and French languages is highly appreciated by people all over the world. Why? Firstly, it helps to develop international cooperation and secondly, it unites nations. And one global language could help it.

  There are many theories about creation of a universal language but personally I was interested by the idea of Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky, a Russian and Soviet rocket scientist and pioneer of the astronautic theory.

  In 1927 his book «Общечеловеческая азбука, правописание и язык» was published in Kaluga.

  In it he says about creation of one integrated language: it is unproductive to create a new language and so as the basis of one language he suggests taking French because English, from his point of view, is full of unpronounced sounds, German is too long and oriental languages are too underdeveloped ( but he doesn`t mention anything Japanese and Chinese).

  In favour of French says its widespread development the fact it is the language of diplomats.

  K.Tsiolkovsky pays great attention to alphabet –in it he sees the reason of differences among languages. The scientist suggests formating the alphabet that could be understood by everyone.

  Speaking about formation one language, I would point out the following factors for its creating:
  1.People living on our planet will be able to overcome the language barrier and contact each other
  2. International cooperation and trade will be better
  3.It will improve the process of globalization.

  I wondered if it is possible to create such a language and I also wanted to know other people`s opinions. I carried out the survey.

  The questions were:
  1. Would you like people on the planet to have one universal language
  2.How is it possible to realize?
  3. Is it difficult for you to refuse your mother tongue?

  As you can see the older people are, the more they are against this idea. The main reasons are:
  It is difficult to realize the idea
  It is impossible to refuse mother tongue
  The loss of individuality

  I far as I can see, people`s unwillingness, hard fulfillment, loss of individuality, decolouration of the world makes the implementation the idea of K. Tsiolkovsky impossible.

  But the process of globalization takes place actively nowadays and that`s why the process of one language formation, maybe, will be possible in future too…
