  TEMPERATURE
  
  English climate is not hot and is not cold. All the year the temperature is above zero.
  The coldest day was 10 January, 1982 (-26°), the hottest day - 10 Aug ust,2003 (38°)

  SPRING
  Spring is the period from March to May. Spring is generally a calm, cool season. As the days get longer, temperatures slowly rise, but t cool ocean waters and westerly winds don’t let them go up quickly. There is a chance of snow in March. Some of the heaviest snowfalls of 2000-2020 were in the first half of March, but they can come later - in 2013 snow was on 14 May and in early June in 1975. Temperatures below zero can happen during March nights; high temperatures above 30 °C are rare, (example - 25 May 2012, 27 May 2005). Sometimes spring has the hottest day of the year.
  During spring, there can be large temperature swings between day and night. On 9 April 2017, night-time temperatures were 3 °C and 25 °C at 12:00. High temperatures start thunderstorms and heavy rains.

  MARCH
  
  As March is, pack plenty of layers and a waterproof jacket, as well as an umbrella, you will still need a coat and possibly gloves and a scarf, too, on some days.

  APRIL
  April weather is rain and sunshine 50/50, so an umbrella is a must! You can see some hot days, but do not think that T-shirts and shorts are good for this time of the year. A light jacket or coat, strong shoes or boots are the best.

  MAY
  There are a few rainy days, many days are cloudy, but it is warm and sometimes even hot! The first week of May has temperatures +12 to +18, but the last week will have +25. There are a few sunny days, but usually, the weather changes quickly. So a light water-proof coat and an umbrella must be with you!

  SUMMER
  Summer lasts from June to August and is the warmest and usually the sunniest season but there can be thundershowers. Sometimes, a type of superthunderstorm called the Spanish Plume forms after very hot weather. Heatwaves and occasional droughts can be in Britain such as in the summers of 2003, 2006 and 2018 when forest fires broke in England.

  AUTUMN
  Autumn in the United Kingdom lasts from September to November. The season sees a lot of weather changes because as cool polar air moves to the south, it can meet warm air from the tropics or with the warm ocean winds. Also, the becomes colder than the ocean. Autumn is the stormiest time of the year.
  The Great Storm of 1987 was terrible. Such storms were in October 2002, October 2013.
  Autumn can be a cold season with very low temperatures and heavy snowfall (November 1985, November 1993 and November 2010, November 2016, the temperature was −18.0 °C). However, the United Kingdom sometimes has an "Indian summer", when temperatures are +10-15 °C.

  SEPTEMBER
  In September the temperature is about 15  °C, 10 sunny and 20 cloudy days. Every day you can have a little of rain. That’s why you need a water-proof jacket, an umbrella, a sweater and jeans.

  OCTOBER
  October weather is also very changeable. For example, October 1, 2019, the weather changed 14 times (раз) in a day! It was sunny, cloudy, rainy and stormy. The temperature changed from +11 °C to 19  °C! That’s why you need several layers (слоев) of clothes – a T-shirt, a jumper, and a coat. And an umbrella!

  NOVEMBER
  The temperature is about +8  °C, there are about 7 sunny days but they do not go one after another. There is one or two rainy days with showers, may be one foggy day. Most days are cloudy. So wear your waterproof jacket, wellies and a cap! An umbrella is again a must!

  WINTER
  Winter is from December to February. The season is generally cool, wet, windy, and cloudy. Temperatures at night are −10 °C and in the day don’trise above 15 °C , usually +6 °C. Rainfall is heavy in the season, snow is rare (редкий), and mostly in the Scottish Highlands. For the UK, snow can fall in winter time yet is usually light and doesn't last long (in the mountains it can stay up to 6 months). Snow falls in the UK every year, but only some. The UK can see extreme winters like 1684, 1740, 1795 (when London recorded the lowest temperature of −21.1 °C), 1947 and 1963. Sometimes there are snowstorms. December 2015 was the wettest calendar month ever recorded in the United Kingdom, and January 2016 the second wettest. In these months, the UK had 2 to 4 times as much rainfall as normal. December 2015 was also the warmest December with +9.7 °C, this is warmer than any March).
