American author, best known as the author of adventure stories and novels. He was born on January 12, 1876 in San Francisco. Jack London soon began independent work life full of hardships. When he was in high school, he sold the newspaper the morning and evening, on weekends moonlighting at a bowling alley, placing the pins, as well as a cleaner beer pavilions in the park.  At the end of primary school, at the age of fourteen, he entered the cannery workers. The work was very hard, and he went to the factory.
The first sketch of London "Typhoon off the coast of Japan," for which he won first prize in one of the newspapers of San Francisco, was published November 12, 1893, and was the beginning of his literary career.
London died November 22, 1916 in Glen Ellen. In recent years, he suffered from renal disease (uremia) died of poisoning had prescribed morphine.
