  Where did they appear?
  
  The answer to this question is very simple: everywhere. The doll is one of the first companions of the man. It can be found as among primitive so civilized people. It is known that dolls have been during the existence of the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome.

  It is possible that the first doll was invented not by adults but by children and made of natural things such as stones and sticks. But for most people the dolls were more than just toys. For example, among American Indian baby doll was the image of a deity or an idol. It was made of wood and was part of the religious education of children.
