Тема урока: Музыка
Цели урока:
- формирование и
закрепление коммуникативной компетенции в говорении (монологическая и
диалогическая речь), аудировании и чтении (с целью нахождения конкретной
информации);
- формирование
интереса к языку, развитие и воспитание способности и готовности к
самостоятельному и непрерывному изучению языка, дальнейшему самообразованию с
его помощью, формирование способности осуществлять поиск и использование
информации, необходимой для подготовки к уроку;
- коррекция
слухового восприятия на основе аудирования, речевой сферы в ходе составления и
воспроизведения диалогов по предложенной ситуации, презентации проектов,
поискового чтения.

I. Организационный
этап. Вступительное слово учителя.
T: Hello, everyone. I am glad to see
you. Who is absent today? Ok, today we are going to speak about music. At our lesson
we have some guests, but don't be afraid. Just relax and show your knowledge. Music
is very important for us, isn't it? While listening to our favourite music we
can relax and enjoy ourselves. It also brings back our memories and it is a
great source of inspiration. At our lesson weʹll revise some words related to
the topic, listen to a song and some musical extracts, read about a famous
English singer and, of course, speak about your favourite styles of music and
singers.

T: Now, look at the screen. You can see
the names of some musical instruments and musical styles. Letʹs revise them. (учитель

T: As for me, I enjoy listening to music
very much. My favourite style of music is rock. And what about you? I'd like to
learn about your musical preferences. Look at the screen. Here are some useful questions
for you:
- What is your favourite type of music?
- Who are your favourite singers or groups?
- Can you play any musical instruments?
- What instruments would you like to play?

T: You'll work in pairs. Please, make up
short dialogues and use these questions. I'll give you some time and then we'll

T: Do you know who sings this song? Well,
his name is Rod Stewart. And today you'll learn some information about his
life. Read the text and complete the chart of Rod Stewart's life . Look at the

Roderick David "Rod"
Stewart" is a British singer-songwriter and one of the best selling
artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide.
He was born on 10 January 1945 in
London. Stewart was the youngest of five children and he was a spoiled child.
He has called his childhood "fantastically happy".
The Stewart family was mostly
focused on football and Rod was the most talented footballer in his family. He
became captain of the school football team.
Stewart was also fond of music.
His father bought him a guitar in January 1959 and in 1960 he joined a skiffle
group with school friends called the Kool Kats.
His ambition was to become a
professional footballer but he has chosen another career. Stewart states in his
2012 autobiography, "Well, a musician`s life is a lot easier and I can
also get drunk and make music, and I can`t do that and play football. I plumped
for music ... They`re the only two things I can do actually: play football and
sing."
With his distinctive raspy
singing voice, Stewart came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s
with The Jeff Beck Group and then with the Faces. He launched his solo career
in 1969 with his debut album An Old Raincoat Won`t Ever Let You Down (US: The
Rod Stewart Album). His early albums were a fusion of rock, folk music and
R&B. His aggressive blues work with The Jeff Best Group and the Faces
influenced heavy metal genres. From the late 1970s through the 1990s, Stewart`s
music often took on a New Wave or soft rock/MOR quality, and in the early 2000s
he released a series of successful albums interpreting the Great American
Songbook.
In 2008, Billboard magazine
ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the "The Billboard Hot 100
Top All-Time Artists". As a solo artist, Stewart was inducted into the US
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and was
inducted a second time into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of
Faces, in 2012.
