The aims of the game: a) to enrich students` knowledge of foreign languages, to show the importance of being well – educated.

b) to develop students` intellect speech habit through speaking, listening in three languages.

c) to bring up the culture of communication and the need in practical use of languages.

The procedure of the lesson:

I. Good afternoon! Dear teachers and students!

We are very glad to see you today. As you know this week is the week of language. You are welcome to our competition “The Leader of the XXI century”. First of all I want to invite you a beautiful girls and boys of 8^th form. They want to sing songs for us.

And now I want to invite our participants. They are: ---------------------------------------------And now I want to introduce you with our jury. They are teachers of our school: ------------------.

I wish you good luck. Everyone will get a point for the correct answer in the competition and at the end of the party we`ll know who is the Leader of the XXI century. The participants please introduce yourselves. Now I will introduce you with the process of the game. Our game consists of 4 stages:

1. Answer the questions.

2. Polyglot.

3. What do you know about these countries?

4. Who is the best?

And now let`s begin our competition. Our first stage is “Answer the questions”. At this stage you must answer my questions. For each correct answer you will get 10 points.

Juliet”? (W. Shakespeare)

II. The next competition is called “Polyglot”. I shall give you some riddles and you will try to guess them. Then you must translate these words into Kazakh and Russian. If you give the correct answer in three languages you will get 30 points. Listen carefully.

1. It is white, it`s cold. We can skate on it.

2. It is blue by night, by day it is white.

It is cold and not day. It falls from the sky.

3. They don`t me alone,

But can`t eat without me.

4. The animal that sleeps all winter?

5. It eats carrots it has got a long east?

body. And very sharp teeth.

My face is black. I can`t talk.

The 2^nd competition is over. I want jury to tell as the marks of our participants. Let`s count the points …

Unfortunately, we are say good bye to 4 participants.

III. And now let`s begin our 3^rd stage. On this board you see some questions about three countries: The USA, Great Britain and Kazakhstan.

IV. Now we shall begin our 4^th stage “Who`s the best”?

In this stage one of you who gathered fewer point will choose one envelope. There are two letters: A and B.
