Maretskaya was always drowning in flowers after each performance. All the actors were loved greatly in Rostov.
Rostislav Plyatt was the only rostovite among actors of Moscow Art Theatre. He was born in Rostov-on-Don though he didn`t spend his childhood there. His father took him to Moscow at the age of 8. There young Plyatt showed the interest to a theatre. He took part in school performances, sparkled with wit and humor, created unforgettable characters. In Rostov he felt happy. Many years later Plyatt remembered the Rostov period as the best years in his life. Rostov citizens applauded to the art of the talented actors especially when Plyatt and Maretskaya were on the stage.
Many outstanding actors of the Soviet Theatre and Cinema worked on the stage of our Drama Theatre in the 30`s. The audience had the chance to appreciate wonderful work of the producers N.Sinelnikov, A.Tairov, YU.Zavadsky. In spite of the fact that this period wasn`t very long it was important.
