Вопросы с глаголом to be He is a doctor, isn’t he? They are in the park, aren’t they? Bob was in Paris, wasn’t he? My parents were at home, weren’t they? Nick isn’t at school, is he? Polly and Ann aren’t students, are they?
Вопросы с модальными глаголами She can speak English, can’t she? Liz must do it, mustn’t she? Pete may not go home, may he?
Вопросы с глаголом to have Mum has got a book, hasn’t she? Dad has got a car, hasn’t he? Bob and his friend haven’t got bikes, have they?
Ответы на разделительные вопросы Могут быть краткими, как и на общие вопросы. Например: известно, что Дон – пилот и у него есть самолёт. Don is a pilot, isn’t he? Yes, he is. Don is a teacher, isn’t he? No, he isn’t. He has a plane, hasn’t he? Yes, he has.
Существуют особые случаи образования разделительных вопросов.
В разделительном вопросе с I am в окончании используется aren’t I?: e.g. I’m late, aren’t I? (am I not?)
После let’s используется shall we? e.g. Let’s go to the park, shall we?
There может быть подлежащим в разделительных вопросах: e.g. There are a lot of presents under the Christmas tree, aren’t there?

nothing everything something everything e.g. Nothing is perfect, is it?
nobody somebody everybody anybody e.g. Nobody came, did they?
e.g. Sit down, won’t you?
e.g. Shut the door, will you?/ would you?/ can you?/can’t you?/could you?
Exercise 1. Jessica, an American, and Liz, a British girl, are watching the Chinese New Year celebration in New York. 1) Do British people celebrate the Chinese New Year? 2) What questions do Jessica and Liz ask to each other? 3) How are these questions formed?
Exercise 2. Nelly and Tom are asking their American friends about American celebrations. 1) Decide which sentences are questions and in which sentences the person is asked to agree. 2) Pronounce all the sentences as if the questions are asked. 3) Pronounce all the sentences as if you ask a person to agree.
