Professional career - growth of knowledge and skills. Professional career can follow the line of specialization (indentation in the one selected at the beginning of a career path, motion lines).

vertical career - job growth;
horizontal career - promotion within the organization, for example, work in different departments of the same level of the hierarchy;

highest career point - the top post, existing in a particular agency in question;
career length - the number of positions on the way from the first position occupied by the individual in the organization, to the highest point;
indicator of position - the ratio of the number of persons employed at the next hierarchical level, to the number of persons employed at the hierarchical level where the individual is at the moment in his career;
indicator of potential mobility - the ratio (in some specified period of time), the number of vacancies at the next hierarchical level to the number of persons employed at the hierarchical level where the individual is.
