M. V. Lomonosov (1711-1765)
Was born in Kholmogory settlement near the sity of Arkhangelsk; father was a seaman; started to study at the age of 19; became the first Russian Academician at the age of 33; Founded Moscow University in 1755; a great scientist; made discoveries in different fields of science; a monument to M. Y. A. Gagarin (1934 -1968)
Was born in a small village near the city of Smolensk; was interested in planes, spaceships, rockets; became the world cosmonaut at the age of 27; flew into the space on the 12th of April, 1961, on board the spaceship “Vostok”; the monument to his is in Gagarin square. Y. A. Gagarin (1934 -1968)
Kostenko Michael Poliectovich
Is a famous Russian engineer. He was born in 1889 in the family of doctor in Belgorod region. He created electrodynamics models which gave a possibility to investigate power system of energy and equipment of electric station in 1958. Kostenko Michael Poliectovich
Vladimir Grigorijevich Shuhov (1853-1939)
Is an outstanding Russian scientist, engineer and inventor. He was born in Graivoron. His works are devoted to the problems of oil industry. In 1897 he built the 1st oil pipeline in Russia and discovered famous “Shuhov’s formula” for calculation of moving of oil over pipes. He created the constructions of waterpipe steam boileres, which were called after him. He was awarded the Lenin’s prize. Vladimir Grigorijevich Shuhov (1853-1939)
Vasily Yakovlevich Yeroshenko
Vasiliy Yakovlevich Yeroshenko He was born in 1889 on the 31st of December in the village of Obukhovka not far from Stary Oskol in the family of a timber merchant. At the age of 7 he had a passion for music.
Vasiliy Yakovlevich Yeroshenko Yeroshenko studied Esperanto, the international language, and in 1912 he left Moskow for England where he entered the Royal College for blind musicians and continued to study English.
Vasiliy Yakovlevich Yeroshenko In 1914 he went to Tokyo and Taught Esperanto in Japanese University and at the same time he studied Philosophy and Japanese language.
Vasiliy Yakovlevich Yeroshenko In 1923 he returned to Russia and worked at Communist University. He died in the village Obukhovka in 1952. He was not known as a writer in our country for a long time.
Vasiliy Yakovlevich Yeroshenko In 1962 the first poem of Yeroshenko was published in Russia. It was the famous book «The eagle's heart».
