Welcome to the world of limericks
A limerick is a form of poetry, especially one in five – line anapestic meter with a strict rhyme scheme
The form appeared in England in the early years of the 18-th century
The limerick form was popularized by Edward Lear in his first book of Nonsense. The humor is not in the «punch line» ending but rather in the tension between meaning and its lack
2015 The book is 169 years
Edward Lear was a famous English writer and also an artist. Here are some of his pictures.

Some Russian Nonsense Rhymes
In conclusion I think I ought to say that limericks are witty pieces of humorous English poetry. So I hope all of you enjoyed them as much as I did.
