They imagined in the form of good and evil spirits and demons. The Lord of rain, storms, river water and all underground forces was a dragon. Over time, the dragon became the symbol of the king. The agriculture of the ancient Chinese The basic food of the Chinese is rice. Growing rice is hard. Knee-deep in water ploughed farmers field and sow rice. Margins on all sides was protected by a low earthen dams. In the dam did gate through which passed the water on the field from rivers and canals. The collected rice is pounded in a mortar and cooked it in different foods. Most often, rice is simply boiled and eaten with wooden chopsticks, which the Chinese are now, as we keep spoons and forks.
The life of the peasants The lives of ordinary people in ancient China was hard. Continuously wars were fought that ravaged the country. For the villages, the officials went with the guards and collect taxes. Peasants who could not pay, gave into slavery. And in lean years, farmers themselves sold into slavery their children. The villagers had to build dams around the fields, dig the canals. They were forced to build Great Chinese walls
Chinese money The Chinese used small and large money. Were small coins with holes in the middle. They were strung on twine a thousand pieces and wore such cords with you. Big money were ingots (bars) of silver. When it was time to pay, from ingot cut off a piece and weighed.
