Описание слайда:

The 14th of February is called Valentine’s Day. It is a day of lovers. St.Valentine’s Day has roots in several legends. Cupid, the Roman god of love, is one of the earliest popular symbols of the day. Valentine was a Christian priest. On February 14 he was killed because he was a Christian. On this day every man and every woman thinks about his or her sweetheart. On St. Valentine’s Day people send a special greeting card (Valentine) to those who they love. It’s a tradition not to give the name of the sender. Most people send “valentines “. But they don’t sign them. They write, “I love you, darling” or “Will you be my Valentine? “Some people buy presents for their sweethearts or give them red roses, a symbol of love.
