Ход урока: Hello everybody. I am glad to see you. Welcome to our lesson. It isn’t usual. It’s a lesson-game “A field of wonders”. I think you like to watch this game on TV. The theme of the lesson is “Great Britain. The landmarks of London”. During the game we’ll try to show our knowledge of the country and prove that London is a wonderful place to visit.

The full name of the country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is situated on the British Isles. It is in the north-west of Europe. The British Isles are separated from the continent by the English Channel. The UK consists of four parts: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The capital of England is London. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. Cardiff is the capital of Wales and the main city of Northern Ireland is Belfast. London stands on the bank of the Thames, it is the longest river.
