The use of this “Jeopardy!” game as an instructional tool is intended to make the otherwise rather droll Peace Corps safety and security material more entertaining and accessible to Trainees who are in danger of being bored to death during weeks and weeks of repetitious PST sessions. It may also be used as a safety and security review during IST or MSC. It is not in any way meant to be a substitute for well-designed and professionally presented lessons so you SSCs still need to do your job. The three people who have never been in Cliff Clavin’s kitchen are Archibald Leach (Carey Grant), Bernard Schwartz (Tony Curtis) and Lucille LeSoeur (Joan Crawford). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you need to watch “Cheers” episode 14 from Season 8 which originally aired on 18 January 1990. If you’ve never heard of “Cheers”, I’m sorry but there’s not much I can do for you. If you born after 1990 then you’re too young to be in Peace Corps so please go home and watch lots of “Jeopardy!” and re-runs of “Cheers” until you graduate from college. If you’re lucky you’ll go the University of Florida like I did. Remember to phrase your answers in the form of a question.

Внеклассное мероприятие с использованием мультимедийной презентации в PowerPoint  “JeopardyGame” по теме «Прошедшее время» разработано в форме интеллектуальной игры «Своя игра».

Данная работа предназначена для учащихся 6-х классов и может быть использована:

¾          в качестве внеклассного мероприятия  во время проведения недели английского языка в школе;

¾          (отдельные презентации) на обобщающих уроках по грамматике для учащихся, изучающих английский язык по любому УМК.

Цель – повторение пройденного учебного материала и выявление знаний учащихся по теме в неформальной обстановке.

Задачи:

¾          повышение интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка;

¾          обобщение и систематизация ЗУН учащихся по теме «Прошедшее время»

¾          развитие грамматической компетенции учащихся;

¾          развитие речемыслительной деятельности учащихся;

¾          развитие устойчивого интереса к изучению английского языка;

¾          способствовать расширению кругозора учащихся;

¾          способствовать воспитанию сотрудничества при коллективной работе;

¾          способствовать повышению уровня мотивации к изучению иностранного языка;

¾          способствовать обогащению внутреннего мира учащихся.

Актуальность и целесообразность использования:

¾          недостаточное количество иллюстративного и информационного материала в УМК; 

¾          интенсификация учебно-воспитательного процесса (увеличение количества предлагаемой информации, уменьшение времени подачи материала)

¾          повышение эффективности усвоения материала за счет одновременного изложения необходимых сведений и показа демонстрационных фрагментов (подача материала двумя способами: аудиально и визуально);

¾          проведение мероприятия (урока) для педагогов, работающих по разным УМК;

¾          повышение мотивации к изучаемому предмету;

 

¾          развитие наглядно-образного мышления.
