The Theme of the lesson: UNDP in Kazakhstan

Aims: 1. To enrich pupils’ knowledge about development programs in Kazakhstan.

2. To develop pupils’ skills in oral speech and reading.

3. To bring up patriots of their Motherland.

P r o c e d u r e of the lesson:

  1. Organization moment

  1. Greeting.

  2. Duty’s report

  1. Warm – up. The anthem of Republic.

  2. Revision of the previous material. Checking the home task.

  3. The aims of the lesson:

T: Today we’ll study a new theme “UNDP in Kazakhstan”. We are going to speak about the United Nations, do the exercises, ask and answer the questions, enlarge the vocabulary and develop speaking habits.

  1. The new theme.

  1. Brainstorming. Answer the questions.

  1. What is UNDP? (United Nations Development Program)

  2. What do you know about the United Nations?

  3. Is the UN an international organization?

  4. When did Kazakhstan become a member of the United Nations?(Kazakhstan became a member of the United Nations on 2 March, 1992)

6.Reading for understanding information.

a) Exercises from the textbook.

b) Vocabulary work:

human rights – адам құқығы

provide – қамтамасыз ету

agreement – келісім, келісімшарт

c)Read about the UNDP programs in Kazakhstan:

- Kazakhstan Social Protection Protect;

- Trade Promotion and Export Development;

- Development of Protection of Human Rights in Kazakhstan, and many others.

Mainly the programs are concerned with the ecological problems, the problems of poverty and unemployed, business development, women rights and human rights.

d)Working together for a better future:

Translate into Kazakh with your partner.

Micro – credit support for Women in Semipalatinsk Region.


  • Empower women of the region by providing access to micro and small loans to women entrepreneurs who do not have access to traditional sources of financing.

  • Provide women entrepreneurs with business related training and support.

  • Micro – credit scheme for the women of Semipalatinsk has been successfully implemented within the UNDP.

  • UNDP Project Document was developed with involvement of the Japanese Government.

The  Theme  of  the  lesson:   UNDP  in  Kazakhstan

Aims:    1. To  enrich  pupils’  knowledge  about  development  programs  in  Kazakhstan. 

              2. To  develop  pupils’  skills  in  oral  speech  and  reading.

              3. To  bring  up  patriots  of  their  Motherland.

Exercise 1 is doing as the brainstorming activity. Then have exercises 2,3,4,5,6. While having the comprehension exercise students have to read the text again and again.

Exercises 7 and 8 follow the activity. Homework will be Exercise 7d(the Project work).
