Princess Diana by Cherry Gilchrist
About the author Cherry Gilchrist was born in 1949 and now lives in Bristol, England. She is an expert on social history and has written educational books on English life during the First World War and in the 1930s. She has also written stories for children and is well known for re-telling traditional stories and legends. Cherry Gilchrist also writes and lectures on myths, symbolism and ancient wisdom. Gilchrist loves to travel. She has a home in Russia and has visited many parts of Asia and the Middle East.

Biography of Diana Spencer Diana was born on the first of July in 1961 into a family that has been close to the Crown since the times of Charles II. She grew up in Park House. Diana had two older sisters and the younger brother. Diana attended private boarding schools. She left school in 1978.
The wedding Her romance with the Prince of Wales began in 1980. He was twelve years older than Diana. Charles and Diana met about a year and then got married. The wedding took place on the 29th of July in 1981 at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Princess Diana was the first English woman to marry a heir to the throne for 300 years
Prince William Prince Harry
The Family The Princess of Wales had two sons. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was born on the 21st of June, 1982 and Prince Harry Charles Albert David on the 15th of September, 1984 both at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, in London. The Princess had seventeen godchildren.
Charles was still in love with his old girlfriend, Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The Divorce In December 1992 it was announced that The Prince and Princess of Wales had agreed to part. In November 1995 the Princess gave a television interview and told of her unhappiness in her personal life and the pressure of her public role. The Prince and Princess were divorced on the 28th of August, 1996.
Dodi Al-Fayed Diana and Dodi Princess Diana met Dodi Al-Fayed at a polo match in July 1986. At this time her marriage was falling apart but she was still maintaining a public appearance. Princess Diana had dinner with Dodi in Dodi's Park Lane apartment and they were described as sitting on the floor and talking for hours. Diana began dating Dodi after her divorce.
Death The car crash occurred after Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed had left the Ritz Hotel in Paris where they had earlier eaten a meal. The car crash itself happened in the tunnel under the Place de l'Alma on August 31, 1997. Princess Diana survived the initial car crash but later died at hospital at 4 a.m. Paris time.
More than a million people came to London to remember her. Nearly all of them carried flowers. They put thousands of flowers in front of Diana’s home, Kensington Palace.
