  The "new" Paul is shown with a hand over his head. Throughout the Beatles' later period, pictures and drawings of Paul surfaced featuring a hand over his head. This is an Eastern religion's way of symbolizing evil or death. (Not true.) None of the other Beatles have a hand over their heads in any officially released picture or drawing after the fall of 1966.
  Paul is the only Beatle holding a black musical instrument.
  A group of hyacinths forms a guitar, positioned as a left-handed musician would play it. Paul is the only left-handed Beatle. The guitar only has three strings, representing the three remaining Beatles. The flowers also spell "Paul"

  Paul is barefoot, which is how corpses are buried. John, in white, represents the preacher, George, in denim, represents the gravedigger, Ringo, all in black, represents the pallbearer. (No pun intended.)
  Paul's eyes are closed, he's walking out of step with the others, and smoking a cigarette in the "wrong" hand (Paul being a leftie).

  The cover artwork is very typical of the psychedelic era, a collage-like display of abstract images and colours with plenty of soft edges and swirls. The four band members are decked out in their finery poised atop a surreal surface above the submarine. The submarine is their mode of transportation while adventuring under the sea to save Pepperland and defeat the “Blue Meanies” (symbolic of the police, or bad politicians). Surrounding them are other images from the Sgt. Pepper’s story.
   
  There has been a great deal of interpretation of the artwork used for this cover. Some believe the submarine is like a capsule, a pill to oblivion and invites listeners to partake, others say is more a symbol of an arc, where we can gather our friends and come aboard.

  "Yesterday" is a song originally recorded by the Beatles for their 1965 album Help!. ", the song was written by Paul McCartney. It remains popular today with more than 2,200 cover versions, and is one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music. "Yesterday" was voted the best song of the 20th century in a 1999 BBC Radio 2 poll of music experts and listeners and was also voted the No. 1 Pop song of all time by MTV and Rolling Stone magazine the following year. In 1997, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) asserts that it was performed over seven million times in the 20th century alone.
  
  According to biographers of McCartney and the Beatles, McCartney composed the entire melody in a dream one night in his room at the Wimpole Street home of his then girlfriend Jane Asher and her family. Upon waking, he hurried to a piano and played the tune to avoid forgetting it.
  
  "Yesterday" is a melancholy acoustic guitar ballad about the break-up of a relationship. McCartney is the only member of the Beatles to appear on the recording, and it was the first official recording by the Beatles that relied upon a performance by a single member of the band.

  They were like the gods of the sixties. All other bands in the sixties were just great musicians, but the Beatles were something more, and they were ours. Most people that are into music know the sixties were a time of musical kings.
  
  Everyone was great, but the Beatles were the king of kings, and that is why they were so exceptional.
  There was an X factor to the Beatles, and everyone knew it on some level, even the adults and people that did not like their music. As musicians they were unbelievably great; as people they were funny and smart.
  
  They were the strongest voice of a generation of many strong, talented voices. They made the older generation look stupid and made us look good; they gave us real strength.
  
  We took them for granted like most people and did not know how special they were until years after they were gone. People always thought that some other band would eventually come along and be that good. No one has, and now it is known why.
  
  They were not just musicians; they were prophets.  We do not need a new band; we still have them. We still have their music; we just have to really hear it.
