Plan

1.      Good morning ladies and gentlemen! We are glad to see you. Let’s start our meeting!

2.      First of all, let` s divide into groups. Each group should choose a leader.

3.      Task 1.Look at the board and try to predict what we are going to talk about.

4.      Task 2. Watch a presentation, check your predictions and try to write down all the problems mentioned in the presentation. Сompare the results .

(Suggested answers: 1-choosing the place to study, 2-getting a job after graduating, 3-lack of leisure time, 4-bad habits)

5.      Task 3. Place these problems in the order of their significance. Work in groups.

Which of them is the most important \ the less important? (From your point of view).

6.      Task 4. Let` s take a first problem, сhoоsing a good place to study. Let`s watch a short film about the system of education in Britain.

        11.  So, getting a good education is a hard work for everyone. But you can`t solve this problem without taking care of your health.

Task 7. Your friend studies hard and doesn`t lead a healthy way of life. What would you advise him to do if he complains:

2)      “ I feel really sleepy during the day”

3)      “ I think I am fatter then I should be”

YOUTH PROBLEMS IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

RUSSIA

I am a Russian. I am a school-leaver. My name is Marina. I’m going to study foreign languages.

Russia is the greatest country in the world. And just Russia has the greatest number of problems & also youth problems. As our economy is destroyed we have a great deal of unemployeers. The statistics says, more than 7 million people though it says its level has decreased 18 per cent.

It’s terrible when young people, school – leavers, finish school & can’t enter any university because they have no money & can’t find any jobs. What must they do? They have to realize themselves in something. This ‘something’ is alcoholism & what is more awful drug addiction.

These problems are problems of the whole country & as I see now of all nations.

Our youth has some free time. But there’s nothing to do with it. We have some disco clubs. They are of such a low level that a clever young man won’t go there.

 Sports is left. Yes, a lot of young men go in for different sports. We have many champions but it is another problem: our professional sportsmen aren’t paid enough & they change our sports clubs for foreign.

It’s impossible to speak about a healthy way of life. We have too few opportunities to realize ourselves in something.

Some words about one more serious problem: joining the army. Young people’s health is so weak that there are no young men who can join it. & they have no wish to join it because of bad discipline.

Problems… Problems… Problems…

They must be solved by our government & by us, as possible, if they want to have healthy generation.

FRANCE

Let me introduce myself. I am Zhan. I’m a student. Our youth don’t want to divide into groups, parties, organizations.

However, they like to a fun in a company. They like to discuss for hours about Lyceum teachers, chiefs, parents, Future, money, love & what not. They like to be somewhere in a street to sing or to listen to an orchestra or a group.

Sometimes a motocycle is a reason to gather. In Paris every Friday evening hundreds of young people in helmets on bikes, dressed in leather, gather together. To have a motorbike means to have friends, to travel.

Young people in France can join any groups & associations: for example, sports scout associations.

If they want to go in for sports they can regularly take part in a club activity. I think you know the French Federation of Athletes. Besides, there are youth movements which suggest young people modern ideal.

Such a movement is a Scout one.

Also there are numerous clubs: theatres, choirs, cinema circles, sections of modern dance & sailing.

GERMANY

Hello!

I’m a student from Germany. My name is …. German young people have quite the same problems as the young people from all over the world. Unemployment is very important. Many teenagers don’t want to work because they want to get everything from their parents: a car, a flat, money.  But there are also young people who can’t find any job. And they organize many different movements. And that is very dangerous.

The other important problem is drugaddiction. You can find many drugaddicts in every disco. They spend a lot of money on the drugs. And, of course, you know that drugaddiction  is disease and it leads to many other terrible illnesses.

The next problem is heavy smoking. Just every girl & every woman smoke in our days. They don’t think it’s bad.

There is one more problem. It is studying. In Germany people must pay a lot of money for studying. But if you have no money, you can study in credit & after graduating from the university you must work & pay the state all the money. That’s very comfortable.

JAPAN

Good morning!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jamamoto. I’m a student. I came from the island Ku – Su. I’m very glad to have been invited to your talk-show! The Japanese students also discussed their problems. Japan is a country which is on the first place of using nicotin & alcohol. But in spite of this Japan has the highest level of life length. It’s difficult to say why it is so. Perhaps the Japanese have very healthy food. It is very expensive of course.

There is a great problem of education. The higher education is not free of charge. Most young people try to get higher education as it is difficult to get a well-paid job without it. To graduate from any university the students have to study hard, that’s why the  Japanese students have absolutely no free time for leisure. Of course we have some more problems but I hope that the nearest future we will overcome them. & now let me see off. Thank you for your attention. Come to Japan! Good – bye!

THE USA

Hi, my boys & girls, your teachers & your guests!

My name is … I’m from … University. I gonna be a bank clerk. It’s interesting to be a student, difficult & expensive.

You want me to tell you some words about the problems of youth in the USA.

Well, I must say that America is a highly developed country, but we have a lot of problems of youth.

Young people have many conflicts with there parents because their parents don’t try to understand the youth. But these problems aren’t so terrible as unemployment, druaddiction, AIDs, crimes, heavy smoking & some others.

Our government does a lot to improve the situation. There are a lot of prevention programmes. Young people begin to understand that their future isn’t gonna be good if they use drugs, alcohol. Their health is in direct dependence on these factors.

We have some problems with studying. Our education costs much money. “The money , spent on the brain, is never spent in vain.” We know it & our parents aren’t greedy money on children’s education. Our government pays great attention to our morals. They want us to be kind, careful, to help those who is in need. We learn to be persons of such kind. We love the youth of the whole world & try to make some contacts with everybody.

Welcome to the USA & you will see with your own eyes what an American young man is!

Метапредметные: развивать навыки общения, умение логически мыслить, осознано использовать речевые средства в соответствии с задачей коммуникации, умения сравнивать, обобщать , делать выводы .

Предметные: совершенствование умений чтения ( ознакомительное и извлечение детальной информации), устной речи, на основе прослушанного и прочитанного, применение в речи лексических единиц и фраз по изученной теме, расширение словарного запаса при обсуждении темы.

Цель урока: формирование коммуникативных навыков по теме “ Проблемы подростков в современном мире” ,воспитание культуры общения, совершенствование навыков чтения и аудирования.

Технологии: обучение в сотрудничестве, технология коммуникативного обучения иноязычной культуре.

Материально-техническое оснащение урока: раздаточный материал( опорные упражнения и задания для учащихся, интернет –ресурсы ,фильмы для аудирования, презентация по теме, интерактивная доска.
