-         Finally, the long, hard winter 7)_____________ and spring 8)______________, my favourite time of year. The sun was shining, the grass was growing, the birds were singing and the pilgrims 9)__________ out to plant.

“Number one – dig a hole. Check. Number two…” “You don’t really know what you are doing, do you?” “I admit it I am not much of a farmer.”

-         But God had heard their prayers and 10)____________ along one of the locals to help them, an English-speaking Indian by the name of Squanto.

-         So, with lots of hard work and working together with their new friends – the Indians – by the end of the season, they 11)_____________ an abundant harvest.
