Teacher. Read the following text and find the answer to the answer to the question: Where sis Nick and Andrew buy all the groceries ( продукты)?

SHOPPING

One day Nick and Andrew decided to go shopping. There are a lot of shops and supermarkets in the centre of Krasnodar, so they decided to go through some of them.

The first shop on their way was a large supermarket ( универсам). They needed some groceries ( продукты) that’s why they went there. The choice of goods was very impressive. It seemed to them that on the counters ( на прилавках) and shelves there was everything one could want. They could see sausages of different hinds, fish, meat, poultry. At the bakery there was bread, rolls, biscuits. At the dairy department there was milk, cream, cheese, butter. Everything was nicely packed and when they came to the cashier ( кассир) their baskets were full of groceries.


Pupils scan the text to find the answer to given question.

1) Pupils answer the question given before the text: Where did Nick and Andrew buy all the groceries?

2) Teacher. Before shopping Nick and Andrew made the following shopping list:

Teacher. What do shoppers buy in the following shops ( the baker’s, the butcher’s, the fishmonger’s, the grocer’s, the dairy, the greengrocer’s)? Who can make the longest shopping list? ( pupils are divided into 4 groups. The pupils of each group write the shopping list of groceries for the definite shop.)

P 1 : At the baker's shoppers can buy the following groceries: bread, rolls, biscuits, rye bread ( черный хлеб), buns, cakes.

Teacher. Mrs. Ivanova went shopping one day. Listen to her conversation with the salespersons ( с продавцами). Answer the question: What shops did she go to?

- How much does it cost?

- Two roubles.


2) – I'd like some vegetables, please.

- How much do you want?

-I want a kilo of potatoes, half a kilo of onions and 2 kilos of tomatoes.

3) – Can I have a kilo and a half of flour, please?

- Yes, of course.

- How much is that?

- One rouble thirty.


4) – I'd like to buy 200 grams of butter and a pint of milk, please.

- Here you are. What else?

- A kilo of marmalade for "> - How much will that cost?

- Two roubles fifty.

- Thank you.

Example: P3: She bought half a kilo of meat, a kilo of potatoes, half a kilo of onions and 2 kilos of tomatoes.

P4 : Besides, she bought a kilo and a half of flour, 200 grams of butter, a pint of milk, a kilo of marmalade.

P5 : she paid about 9 roubles for her groceries.

Teacher. Which word did she use most often?

Example: P6 : She used the word “ please” very often.


VII. The conclusion of the lesson.

Homework:

Compose the conversations between the shoppers and salespersons.
