Цель урока:
развивать навыки аудирования, говорения по теме «Планы на
будущее. Выбор профессии»,
совершенствовать лексические навыки.
Оборудование:
карточки для групповой работы по количеству обучающихся.
Задачи:
учебные:
активизация лексических единиц, умение обобщать полученные
знания, использовать их в новых ситуациях.
развивающие:
развитие понимания иноязычной речи на слух, развитие
интеллектуальных способностей учащихся, умение аргументировать точку зрения.
воспитательные:
воспитание ответственного отношения к выбору профессии,
уважения к труду, содействие профориентации обучающихся.

Look at the screen and repeat the words.
Lawyer, barber (парикмахер), businessman, social worker, dentist, doctor, fireman,
fisherman, gardener, hairdresser, nurse, model, musician, policeman,
receptionist, secretary, soldier, teacher, telephone operator.
Can you guess what we are going to talk about at the lesson
today? (Suggested answer – “About professions”)
Right. The theme of our lesson is “The professions Russian
teens choose”. We will learn
- names of some professions;
- pluses and minuses of professions;
- personal qualities needed to be a good specialist;
- professions chosen by Russian and British teenagers;
- school subjects that can help you to make your choice.
Have you made up your mind what to do after school?
Are you going to stay here or go to some place to study?
Are you working harder on school subjects you will need in
future?

Listen to me carefully and name the profession.
1) A person who helps people with the law or talk for them
in court. (A lawyer)
2) A person who makes and sells medicine. (A chemist)
3) A person who does work to improve bad social conditions
and help people in need. (A social worker)
4) A person trained to look after sick animals. (A vet)
5) A person whose job is to stop a fire. (A fireman)

It is interesting to listen to your opinion and find out what

6. Физкультминутка
Sit comfortably. Close your eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Let’s pretend it’s summer. You are lying on a sandy beach. The weather is fine.
The light wind is blowing from the sea. The birds are singing. You have no
troubles. No serious problems. You are quiet. Your brain relaxes. Nothing
diverts your attention. You are relaxing. (Pause) Your troubles float away. You
love your relatives, your school, and your friends. They love you too. Learn to
appreciate every good thing. The world is full of wonders. You can do anything.
You are sure of yourself, you have much energy. You are in good spirits.

you feel? You have a lot of energy. You are active and strong. You can do any
work easily. Your body is light
There
are different things to do after school. In a group, ask your classmates what they would like to do
in the future. Use word combinations in ex. 8, p. 156 and fill in the table...

T: Listen to the dialogue between two British girls and
answer the following question:

7. Reading
T: Read the dialogue and write down all the opportunities
that Sue gives to Carol. Which of the opportunities are most suitable for
Russian students? (Ex.10, p.156-157)
