Students are to answer the questions/slide #1

1 What is retailing? 2 What is called outlet? 3 What is the difference between hypermarket and supermarket? 4 What is called department store?

Students answer the questions.

1Retailing-selling products to the direct public. 2Shops and markets 3 H-more than 30000, S –less than 30000. 4 Department store sells different types of products. It’s organized in departments, every department has its own manager

  1. Ask two students to show their presentations about one of the retail outlet they have prepared at home and let other students to find the common traits and differences between two presented retail outlets


  1. 1 Students watch the video

2 Students are to make notes about the retail outlets they have learned individually. Then share ideas in pairs.

3 Students are to read their notes and let other guess the retail outlet. Students find the key word to each retail outlet.





b) Two students one by one present their presentation about one of the retail outlets. Other students guess the type of it and discuss the common traits and differences.

Direct students’ attention that in retail outlets there are situations when The shop assistant is not pleased with the consumer or consumer is not pleased with the work of shop assistant. Ask student to work in two teams. The first team presents the group of consumers; the second team presents the group of shop assistants. They are to show one situation they are not pleased with each other while being served or while serving.

Teams follow the instruction.

The teams change their notes and then they are to role the play where the problem is shown and the troubleshooting is found.

Later teams name the problem and the troubleshooting.
