Now let’s start the competition.

  1. THE BEST POET

Recite your favourite poem about animals

  1. My Dream

I love all kinds of animals

Dogs and cats and rabbits,

I love all kinds of animals,

Despite their little habbits.

If I had tons of money,

D’you know what I would do?

I would buy lots of animals

And have my own zoo.

But they wouldn’t be in cages,

They would be free to run around.

And there is one thing they would feel

And that is safe and sound.

  1. One, one, one- little dogs run,

Two, two, two – cats see you,

Three, three, three – birds on the tree,

Four, four, four – rats on the floor.

  1. I like dogs

I like dogs, all dogs

Big dogs and small dogs,

White dogs and black dogs.

But I like best, as you can see,

The dog who likes to play with me!

Teacher: Excellent! I like all the verses. Everybody receives “a star”.

  1. THE SMARTEST PUPIL

Teacher: I have some riddles about animals. Guess what animal it is. Read the puzzles for each other, please (slide 3)

  1. THE FINEST ACTOR

Teacher: Let’s listen to the dialogue “A Visit to the Zoo” and choose the most artistic or the most emotional speaker.

- Hello, Alina!

- Hi, Veronica!

- Where did you go yesterday morning?

- I went to the zoo. My uncle works there.

- I think people who work at the zoo are much more friendly than other people.

- Sure. They take care of animals, feed them and take them to the vet.

- Does your uncle enjoy his work?

- I think so. He likes animals and he knows a lot about their life.

- I believe it is easy to work at the zoo for him.

- I am afraid not. Sometimes it is difficult to get on well with animals. You must be hard-working and caring.

- Let’s go to the zoo next week,

- With pleasure, I like to watch animals and help my uncle.

- Me too. Good-bye!

- Bye-bye!

Teacher: I think both girls deserve “the stars”.

Do you like to go to the Zoo, children? Let’s sing a song “I Like to Go to the Zoo” altogether!

I like to go to the zoo, to the zoo, to the zoo

I saw a lion at the zoo, at the zoo, at the zoo

I saw a zebra there too, there too, there too.

I like to go to the zoo, to the zoo, to the zoo

I saw a tiger at the zoo, at the zoo, at the zoo

I saw a panda there too, there too, there too.

  1. THE READING COMPETITION

Teacher: Children, I would like you to remind me what kind of places different animals can live.

P1 – in the mountains, in the rivers, in the forests…..

P2 – in the jungles, in the seas and oceans, in the deserts…

P3 – at a farm, in the zoos, in the wild animal parks …..

Teacher: I see. And what is the best place for animals to live? How do you think?

P1: I think that it is better for them to live in their natural world.

Teacher: I agree with you. Now read the dialogue in a proper way and learn about the opinions of people on this actual issue.

Helen: Ann? Did you like your trip to the safari park?

Ann: That was lovely. I enjoyed it very much. It’s a pity you didn’t join us.

Helen: To tell the truth, I don’t like places like zoos or safari parks. I think that animals should live in their natural world: in the jungle, in the forest, in the sea.

Ann: I hate zoos too. Lions and tigers in cages look so sad. But safari parks are different. Animals can run there, they feel free and they are safe there.

Helen: May be you are right. But all the zoos must be closed and animals must be sent back to the wild.

Ann: No, you don’t understand. Animals that were born in zoos and live there all their lives can’t live in the wild. Do you remember the film we watched together? It was about two monkeys that were returned to the jungle from the zoo? They had no chance and they died.

Helen: OK, you have won. People should build more safari parks. And the best thing is not to put animals in the zoos. But will people stop doing it?

Ann: It’s a difficult question. Safari parks are very big. It is easier for people to put animals into cages. Oh! Look at this magazine. There are nice pictures of a safari park in Africa. And there is an interesting story.

Helen: Let’s buy the magazine. I’d like to know more about safari parks.

Teacher: Thank you pupils. Who was the best at reading?

Pupils: Ann

Teacher: It’s time to relax and act “Chuga”. Imagine that we are all animals. I am a lioness. (The teacher puts on the mask of a lion, sings and acts, then the pupils put on the masks of animals one by one, sing and act)

  1. Hi, Veronika! Are chuga right chuga,
