Teacher You are quite right – these are English-speaking countries. Today we see in our class the representatives of these countries. They are the winners of the Teenagers’ competition. They have come to our meeting and today they will represent their countries.
Russia is the hostess of the meeting.
Let me introduce my assistant to you. It’s Jane.

The importance of learning English
80% of all information in the world’s computers is in English. Most vocabulary in the modern computer science is in English. You chat in Internet in English.
Doctors and scientists all over the world discuss different problems. They find it easy to exchange information in English.
About 25% of all population speak English. Nearly 50% of the companies communicate with each other in English.
English is called the language of the sky and the sea. Every pilot and ship’s captain must speak English to communicate with each other.
English is the language of rock and pop music. Most of well-known singers sing their songs in English. A famous musical contest “Eurovision” is organized in English.
English is the language of traditional post and e-mail. 75% of all letters are written in English.
