 My  Favourite Teacher.

I would like to tell you neither about my first teacher nor my curator  at  college or at the Institute.

I want to tell about mature teacher. I met her when I was  thirty. Now I`m  sixty one.  For a long time I have been meeting  her from time to time. I could have forgotten about   her a hundred times. But specific of the job of English teacher didn`t let me forget about her. Every five years, now every three years, over the heads of English and German teachers sounds  “Advanced Training Courses! Courses!” & I, & my colleagues are going to these courses.

They are held either in Rostov-on-Don or in Matveev-Kurgan or in Taganrog, as it is now. The last time  we went to Taganrog & I met with V.M. Kanaeva - the head of our studies.. She looked like elegant, was dressed in fashionable clothes, was slim &had a  smile on her face. It seems to me that the time hasn`t changd her, in spite of all difficulties of her work: long removals, nights in hotels, constant business trips. I saw, it as usual, a modern teacher, with clear thoughts, imaginative and rich  speech & bright eyes. She was glad of our uncertain answers, our unbelievable versions. as she looked at us her eyes grew brighter & brighter. She tried to explain new material, new technologies, new methods, so  that everyone could say: “ The courses were useful & interesting”. As for me, every time, when I took part in courses, I had something new in “ Moya Pedagogicheskaya Kopilka”

She is happy. She does, did & `ll do her favourite job:  learn for herself & teach others.

Studying During the Isolation

A task was given me to write about someone`s work during self isolation. L thought & decided to write about my own experience. It`s closer to me than running from teacher to teacher& asking them to share their experience during isolation.

I asked myself more than a hundred  questions ?  Pandemic?  Covid-19?  Isolation ? What is it? How can I work? More than a hundred questions I asked myself. When I found out how other teachers were working during this difficult time, I was upset. They  gave the task & checked it. I think is it possible teaching them on the Internet? How can I make easier their learning? & what about  practice in the language? Children `ll forget everything during two months. Work on the Internet & Discord didn`t arrange me.

Beginning  since 12 of April I started my English lessons over the phone. The  load

was crazy. I had 33 lessons. Everything was new. My main task was not to lose the connection with the Internet, to monitor the telephone which was gaining a high temperature & systematically turned off.

The entire lesson lasted 30 minutes. Regular  lesson. Teacher`s cheering, introductions of the  children, answering the questions on the topic,  reading extracts from the textbooks & grades, grades, grades.  Most children could improve their marks. Maybe the moms helped their sons & daughters, maybe some of them have overcome their psychological complex of  speaking  due to distance.

Many mothers didn`t work during the quarantine  & helped their children during the online lessons. I heard prompts & pokes, tears & laughter. I hope that members of the families became  closer & friendlier & kinder to each other.

When I asked my grandson about isolation studying  he was absolutely against it.
