HALLOWEEN

Звучит русский танец.

Hello! I`m Ivan. Who are you?

Jack-o-Lantern: Hello! My name is Jack. And this is my lantern made from a pumpkin. It contains  a candle inside. Unfortunately, I cannot enter heaven because I am a miser, and I couldn’t enter hell because I`ve played jokes on devil. Now I have to walk on the earth with my lantern until Judgment Day.(с грустью)  But today I am the  King of Hall. Today is our great holiday Halloween. All evil spirits will come here.

Ведущий: It`s time to begin our ball. The children are waiting.

Jack:  O`k. Spooks, skeletons, witches, black cats, pumpkins, all devils from the world, I`m waiting for you.

 (Дети входят в зал под музыку “Halloween on Parade”)

Ведущая: Halloween is a festival that takes place on the  thirty first of October. On Halloween children dress up in costumes and masks and go trick-or-treating   from door to door. Many of them carve jack-o-lanterns out of pumpkins. Fortunetelling and storytelling about ghosts and witches are popular activities.

Poem:

I always fly on my magic broom

I always fly around the moon

I always fly in the sky

And what do you think who am I?

I`m a witch and it means bad luck, don`t look at me.

I went to the well to wash my toe,

When I got back, my chickens were gone,

What time is it, old witch?

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve!!!!!!”

Ведущий : Halloween developed from new year festivals and festivals of the dead. Christian church established a festival on the first of November called All Saints Day so that people could continue to celebrate their festivals. The day before All Saints Day was known all hallows `Eve or All hallow e`en

Poem: It`s Halloween! It`s Halloween!

The moon is full and bright

And we shall see what can`t be seen

On any other night                    

            Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,

            Grinning goblins fighting duels,

            Werewolves rising from their tombs,

            Witches on their magic brooms.                 

                        In masks and gowns we haunt the street

                        And knock on doors for trick or treat.

                        Tonight we are the king and queen,

                        For oh tonight is Halloween!!!                   

Dialogue:

1-  I like your country. I enjoy your holiday, especially Halloween. Can you tell me what games do you usually play on that day?

2- With great pleasure. We play several games on that day. One of them is “ apples on a string”. People hang apples on pieces of string. The players try to eat an apple, but they cannot use their hands.

3- Another game is “ bobbing the apple”. The players try to get an apple out of a bowl of water but they cannot use their hands.

Poem:

 Watch us bobbing for an apple,

For an apple apple apple,

But no apple apple apple

Not an apple can I get.              

Oh, I cannot catch an apple,

Not one apple apple  apple,

Though my sister got an apple,

All I got was soaking wet.         

1.   The third game is “fortune telling”. For this game you need some apples and a knife. This is what you do: take the apple and peel it so that the peel is one long piece. Then throw the peel over your shoulder. Then look at the peel on the floor .Try to see a letter of the alphabet. This letter is the first letter of the name of the person you are going to marry.

2----Oh, all these games are very interesting. I`ll tell my friends about them, and we`ll try to play all these games. It`ll be very funny. Thank you very much.

3- The main Halloween activity for children is trick-or-treating. People give children such treats as candy, fruit and pennies so that children don`t play tricks on them.     

 Poem: “Treat”

  Trick or treat, trick or treat,

Give us something good to eat.

Give us candy, give us cake,

Give us something sweet to take.

            Give us cookies, fruit and gum,

            Hurry up and give us some.

You had better do it quick

Or we`ll surely play a trick.

Ведущий:    People once believed that there were many ghosts and witches on the Earth and they met on the 31 of October to worship the devil.

Today , people don`t believe in ghosts and witches but they like to tell stories about them on Halloween.
