Pilgrim 3
Do
you know the story
Of
the first Thanksgiving Day
Founded by our Pilgrim Fathers
In
that time so far away?
They
had given for religion
Wealth and comfort – yes, and more –
Left
their homes and friends and children
For
unknown barren shore.
We
shall never know the terrors,
That
they faced years ago,
But
for all their struggles gave us,
We
our gratitude can show.
And
the children of New England
If
they feast or praise or pray
Should
bless God for those brave Pilgrims,
And
their first Thanksgiving Day.
Presenter 1:
Dear Indians and Pilgrims! Dear children! Welcome to our Thanksgiving party!
Presenter
2: The Pilgrims celebrated the first
Thanksgiving Day in 1621. They came from England on board” the Mayflower”.
(На корабле, который вырезан из картона, стоит группа ребят. Название
корабля «Mayflower». Один в середине гребет ручкой, изображая, что все плывут
на корабле.)
Pilgrim 2
My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing:
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring.
Song «My Bonnie is Over
the Ocean» (grade 6)
My Bonnie is over the ocean.
My Bonnie is over the sea.
My Bonnie is over the ocean.
Oh, Bring back my Bonnie to me.
Bring back.
Bring back.
Bring back my Bonnie to me, to me.
Bring back my Bonnie to me, to me.
Last night as I lay on my
pillow
Last night as I lay on my bed
Last night as I lay on my pillow
I dream’d that my Bonnie was dead.

1: When Pilgrims came to America,
they had no houses to live in, no food to eat. The only people they met were
Indians and they helped the Pilgrims. Native Indians taught them how to plant,
to fish and to hunt. The crops did well, and the Pilgrims had a great harvest. They were thankful and decided to
celebrate with a Thanksgiving feast.
Presenter 2: They prepared a dinner of turkey, corn, beans, and pumpkins.
They invited their Indian friends to share this feast. The Indians brought food
to the feast, too (they even brought popcorn!).
Presenter 1:
Meet the Governor William Bradford
The Governor William
Bradford : We have gathered a rich
harvest. Nobody will be hungry this winter. Oh, thanks God! (складывает руки в молитве).
Dear Lord, on this Thanksgiving Day
With grateful hearts we bow and pray
For blessing given from our birth
Exceeding way beyond our worth
For friends who’ve proven to be true;
For pets, which count as friendship too.
For home and country, health and love
All sent to us from Heaven above.
Lord, please, continue to be near
And guide us through another year. ( by Carol Neumann)
