Сценарий воспитательного мероприятия по английскому
языку, посвященного празднованию Дня Матери
Compere 1: Dear friends! You are welcome to our party! We have
invited you to the celebration of Mother's Day!
Compere 2: Our dear mothers,
guests and teachers! Today is not an ordinary day, it is Mother's Day, Day of our beloved Mothers. Such a great
holiday as Mother's Day is very dear to everyone. And it would be right to start with a prayer to Mother of God, Mother of
all people.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee!
Blessed
art thou among women,
And
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Compere 1: To each of us our mother is the dearest person. She is near
us when we are small children and she is always ready to help us when we become
older!
Compere 2: Sometimes we forget to write a letter to our mother when
we leave home. But then a great love for our mother comes to us and we
remember our mother's hands.
Compere 1: We can remember
those hands since early childhood. We felt how warm our mother’s hands were even
before we learned to walk and when we were still trying to say our first words. These hands
took care of us day and night. So we were happy when we could pronounce the word
"mummy" for the first time in our life.
Compere 2: Mother is the name of
all things which are dearest to people. Nothing can be greater for you than
your mother. And if you love and respect her, if you never forget about your
duty to your mother and
Motherland, you will be the happiest person. It is not by chance that people say, "He who loves his mother is a real son
of his Motherland".
A wonderful mother
God
made a wonderful mother,
A
mother who never grows old;
He
made her smile of the sunshine,
And
He molded her heart of pure gold;
In
her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In
her cheeks, fair roses you see;
God
made a wonderful mother,
And
He gave that dear mother to me.
Compere 1: And what about the
history of the holiday? Different countries celebrate Mother’s Day on various
days of the year because the day has a number of different origins. Long, long,
ago, in ancient Greece, the people paid tribute to Rhea, the Mother of the
Gods, each spring. A little later in history it is noted that England
paid homage to mothers on “Mothering Sunday”, the fourth Sunday of Lent. In
1872, Julia Ward Howe from the United States suggested the idea of Mother’s Day,
but it was Miss Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, who began a letter – writing
campaign to make Mother’s Day a national holiday.
Compere 2: Denmark, Finland,
Italy, Turkey, Australia, Belgium and many other countries celebrate Mother’s
Day in May. In England sons
and daughters visited their mothers
and brought them flowers and little presents on that day. The eldest son had to bring his mother
a good cake. If sons and daughters couldn't be with their mothers on that day, they
usually sent them presents. In some
parts of England this old custom is still celebrated.
Poems
Mother is the dearest
Of all
friends I know.
She helps me work and helps me play,
That's why I love her
so.
* * *
That is your mother.
1 agree, she is fine.
You love your mother
And I love mine.
* * *
Mother is busy
From morning to night
To keep her family
Happy and bright.
* * *
Make a basket for your mother.
And fill it with flowers gay,
Then put a card just to say;
"Happy
Mother's Day!"
*
* *
The sun is so
bright today.
Because it's Mother's Day.
The sky is so blue
today,
Because it's Mother's Day,
And we are now so gay,
Because it's Mother's Day.
Compere 1: There are many interesting facts about mothers. Some tribes
of people, like the Assam in Africa, don’t call themselves families. They
call themselves “maharis”, or “motherhoods”.
Compere 2: Chinese family names are often formed (begin) with a sign that means
“mother”. It’s a nice way of honouring their moms long past.
Compere 1: Hindu scripture credits the Great Mother, Kali Ma, with the
invention of writing through alphabets, pictographs and beautiful sacred
images.
Compere 2: George Washington once said, “My mother was the most
beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my
success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received
from her”.
Compere 1: In the Bible, Eve is credited with being the “Mother of All
the Living”.
Compere 2: At the beginning of our party we spoke about our Mother's
hands... They can do everything: wash, clean, cook, look after children,
treat, teach and do many other things. Oh, our mothers! What can they be? Farmers and workers, doctors
and teachers, they can be even deputies
and presidents.
Compere 1: Students, let's have a talk about your
mothers. What are they?
(Stories about
mothers)
My mother's face
I know a lovely face,
as full of beauty
as of grace.
A face of
pleasure and of smile,
in darkness it gives light.
A face
that is itself like joy,
to see it I am a happy boy
And I have a joy that have no others,
This
lovely woman is my Mother!
Compere 1: Dear Mom…
Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to mention the things that mean
a lot to us. So on this
special day we want to take the time to say how much
it means to us to have someone like you.
Mother's Day.
Sharing
special times with you
has
helped me appreciate
that
family is all about -
the
closeness, the caring,
the feeling of belonging.
You hold
a very special place
in my
heart...
And I'm looking forward
to
sharing even more
of the good times with you.
We love
the way you love us
And the nice things that you do…
We feel so very lucky
Just
because you're you!
From two people who love you
Much
more than you could guess,
This
comes on Mother's Day
To wish
you happiness!
There is nothing more special
Than
being a part
Of a family that listens
And comforts and cares,
And nothing more special
Or dear to the heart
Than the feelings of love
That a
family shares.
Compere 2: The first word every child pronounces and the
word we often utter while leaving this world, when finding ourselves in trouble
is Mother. SHE always cares for us long after we have grown up and become
independent, for her we remain helpless and vulnerable all our life even when She herself needs our care and
protection. She is merciless towards herself, ready for sacrifice, willing to share her immense love and kindness. Being a
mother is the greatest gift and the toughest responsibility.
Dear Mom
You always made the
very most of all
the times we shared -
you worked, you gave,
you understood,
and,
most of all, you cared...
And of all the happy
memories
so
special to recall,
the
ones you filled with warmth and love
still mean the most of all.
