board and giving lectures? At Southern Cross School, near the famous
Kruger National Park in South Africa, things are different.
D. After math, in
language classes students usually talk. In one recent debate, students
discussed an important question: should people give water to wild animals
during a dry season?
E. Both the park and

Ice
Cream and Sorbets
Ice cream and
sorbets have been eaten all over the world since ancient times. A frozen
mixture of milk and rice was invented around 200 BC in China. The Roman Emperor
Nero ate fruit mixed with snow from the mountains.
For a long time
ice cream was made by hand. A bowl with the ingredients – fruit and cream – was
placed inside another bowl filled with ice and salt. The ice and salt mixture
was used for freezing.
Nowadays, ice
cream can be bought everywhere. It is made by electric ice cream makers. The
process of making ice cream is not as long as it was many years ago. All is
done by machines.
There are already
hundreds of flavours of ice cream and sorbets now in our shops. And no doubt,
unusual flavours of ice cream, like tomato sorbet or green pepper ice cream,
