Тема: «Проблемы молодежи и их решение»

Вид урока: комбинированный урок

Цель: способствовать совершенствованию лексических и грамматических навыков говорения по теме.

Задачи:

• совершенствование знаний учащихся по данной теме с употреблением изученной лексики и грамматических конструкций,
• Развитие  творческих способностей и воспитание интереса к изучению английского языка,
• Совершенствование  умений  работать в малых подгруппах.

Ход урока:

I Вступительная часть.       

1. Организационный момент.

2. Постановка целей и задач урока.

- Dear boys and girls, all of you I think like speaking English. To know what we will speak about today, let's look at the blackboard and try to guess the theme of our lesson.

-You are right.  The theme of our lesson today is “Teenagers' problems”

- Today we’ll discuss problems young people have, difficulties they face in real life. And we'll try to find the solution to these problems.

3. Речевая зарядка.

- Can you answer my question, please?

Who is a teenager? How old is this person?

- As you know the word “teenager” comes from English language. And it means a person who is at the age from 13 to 19.

- You are teenagers. What are teens like?

- Give your associations to this word. Each association should begin with one of the letters of the given word.

T – tense, trying, trusting, talkative, tired

E – energetic, eager, egotistical

E – exhausting, easily bored, entertaining

N – nervous, needy, naughty, noisy, negative

A – active, aggressive, autonomous, appreciative

1.  Активизация знаний по теме.

- To understand and try to solve teen’s problems we should answer the following questions:

Where do teens face their problems?

What do young people worry about?

Why do teens have problems?

Where do teens face their  problems?

– in the family

– at school

– in the street

– in the bus

– etc

- Yes you are right. You may face the problem everywhere.

- You are late at school. It is a problem.

You get a bad mark. It is a problem.

You have no money to go to the cinema. It is a problem.

What else do young people worry about?

       2 – personal problems  (relationships with lovers)

       3 – school problems

       4 – discrimination

2. Закрепление знаний по теме.

-  To answer the next question we need two groups and two texts. The first group gets the text “Teenage Problems in a Family” and the second – “We’ll be Parents too”. The first group will write down what issues cause the problems between parents and teenagers. The task for the second group is to write down all the reasons for the children to obey their parents mentioned in the text.

Teenage Problems in a Family Today conflicts between children and their parents are a classic case of misunderstanding between different generations: conflicts with adults are typical in teenagers’ life. Children and their parents often argue with each other. I would like to tell you about problems which can cause conflicts. One of the problem concerns teenager fashion. Teenagers and their parents have different views on the same things. Nowadays, in most stylish clothes you can’t find anything that looks like normal in your parents’ mind. They don’t like such things as red and blue hair, and studs and rings in different parts of your body. Parents do not want their child to hang out with a bad crowd. They would like their child to make friends with honest boys and girls, because teenagers with bad habits can spoil their child’s character and future. They think they know what is better for their children because of life experience. One more reason for misunderstanding is that parents try to control nearly every step of their children; they constantly tell them what to do and not to do. Very often they don’t let you what do you want to do. We’ll be Parents too. Relationship between parents and children has always been very complicated. It happens because children think that parents aspire to control their every step, constantly teach them, and prohibit everything. Our parents have their own life experience and they know better how this or that situation might develop. And they just want us not to be disappointed and not to make the same mistakes which they made in the past. Our parents know how hard it is to make a success in this life and they want us to be very well prepared for it. Some of our parents seem to be strict enough. But we should forgive them, because we are the most precious things they have. And when we become older and our turn to become parents comes, finally we’ll be able to understand our parents. Our parents want us to be happy. And what is more: they have no holidays, and even when we are angry they will still care for us.

(The pupils read the texts and write down the main problem filling )

The first group is to start. What are the usual complains of the children. (Предполагаемые ответы: Parents don’t like the style and the clothes the children wear. Parents don’t want their children to be friends with whom they want. Etc…)

And now the second group will tell us why your parents can be sometimes too strict. (Предполагаемые ответы: Our parents have their own life experience and they know better how this or that situation might develop …)

And what is the best way in your opinion to solve the problems with parents? (Предполагаемые ответы- You must analyze the reasons of your problems, you must try understand your parents and explain them that you can be responsible and they can rely on you in some things)

3. Творческое применение знаний в новой ситуации (проблемные задания).

- How can we solve other teen's problems?

P1: As for drinking problems, teenagers associate them with adulthood curiosity. I think we need more information about the danger of alcohol provided by mass media.

P2: Some parents don’t pay much attention to their children, they don’t warn them the danger of regular drinking. To my mind school teachers and parents can help.

P3: As for me I believe that we should build special hospitals for the treatment dependent teens.

P4: Adults can help teenagers to overcome difficulties if the pay more attention to teens problems.

- Let's play “Youth problems” game. Divide into 3  groups. Every group gets a task. You should give your solution to the problem in 5-6 minutes.

TASK 1

In your family there are 3-5 children. The parents want to spend a weekend together with all the family. But one of the children wants to go for a walk with the friends, the other – to stay home and play computer. Their parents try to solve this problem.

TASK 2

You are  students of the 11 grade. Most of you don’t study hard and perfectly. You like having a rest and doing nothing.  So, misunderstanding with teachers is an actual problem in this class. Some pupils smoke and drink alcohol. And one boy has started to get on with strange people who are much older him and sometimes they use drugs.

How can you do change the situation? What must teachers do to help school-leavers?

TASK 3

Your teacher is very strict and authoritative.  Most of pupils haven’t done their homework today. Some boys and girls haven’t taken the books. When the teacher begins to ask pupils she understands they are not ready for this lesson. As a result,   she is getting very angry… 

How can this problem be solved?

- At the beginning of the lesson you have told me that you have some problems. So, now at the end of the lesson try to find the solution to these problems. Tell me how you can solve your problems.
