Read an abstract from the book to understand his feelings.
“Still, at times my heart was heavy. I looked around me and realized that I was a prisoner with no hope of escape. This thought used to come upon me, like a sudden storm, and make me cry like a child. But I read the Bible every day, and drew much comfort from it”.
So, how did Robinson feel on the island?
It’s so important when you meet someone who helps you to overcome loneliness. Why was it so important for Robinson Crusoe to meet Friday?
Read one more abstract from the book and answer these questions:

What relationship did he have with Friday?
“This was the pleasantest of all my years on the island. Friday began to talk very well, understanding almost everything I needed to say. After so many years without anyone to talk to, I enjoyed the pleasures of conversation. I began to love Friday more every day, and he gave his heart to me completely.”
There are children who feel lonely and desolate. Do you know that they are called “Latchkey children” (от latchkey замок, который нельзя открыть изнутри). These are the children whose parents are often not at home and who therefore often return from school to an empty house.
