.
I’m
happy to be born in the most beautiful place of our
Motherland.
I was born in the Crimea.
The
Crimea is situated in the south of the Ukraine. It’s
territory
is 26,000 square kilometres. It’s really a treasure-
house.
It’s difficult to find the place which can be compared
with
the Crimea by variety and picturesque of nature.
I’d
like to tell you about splendour of the Crimea, rouse the
wish
to see our Motherland with your eyes, to step on our
Crimean
land. Would you tell me what does the outline of the Crimea remind? Of course,
it’s a heart. But it’s like a flower more.
The
climate of the Crimea is different-subtropical in the south, moderate in the
west and east. The Crimean drinking
water
is poorly mineralized and it’s very healthy for people.
There
more than a hundred springs of medicinal waters.
Such
rich natural resources and the wonderful climate always attracted people.
People
of many nationalities live in the Crimea in friendship and harmony. There are
many natural and historical sights in the Crimea. They are Uspensky monastery
in Bakhchsarai, Vorontsovsky Palase in Alupka
Nikitsky
Botanical Garden in Yalta, waterfall “Dzhur-dzur”
in
Alushta, Khan’s Palace and many others.
The
Crimea is really the gold centre of the Earth. Visit my
Motherland
and you will remember and love it forever.
What
places have you visited?
Today
we’ll visit Sevastopol, Yalta, the town of Stary Crym.
We’re
coming to Count’s landing stage. Special guides are
meeting
us.
Ganich
F. I’d like to tell you about the monument to submerged ships. The monument to
submerged ships was created according to the project of sculptor Adanison,
architect Feldman and military engineer Enberg. It is an artificial cliff
crowned with Corinth capital with a bronze
double
eagle. The eagle holds a laurel wreath and an anchor
in
its beak. A big bronze plate is attached to the foundation
of
the monument. One can see a map of Sevastopol harbour, lines of submerging
ships and an inscription: “To
the
memory of submerged ships in 1854 and 1855.’’ The
height
of the monument is 16 metres 66 cm. There are anchors from the submerged ships
near the wall of the embankment. They say that if you look at the monument from
the sea the eagle’s wings remind the profiles of Nakhimov and Nikolai the
Second.
Bondar
V. Sapun – mountain is a legendary place of battles.
This
height was the key defensive position on the approach
to
the city-hero during the Great Patriotic War. Many Soviet soldiers made heroic
exploits there. The diorama’’Storm of Sapun – mountain of the 7 of May 1944’’
is here.
Our
excursion is finishing. We are saying good- bye to the hero-city and set off
for Yalta. The distance from Sevastopol isn’t long. To make our trip
interesting let’s remember the poems you know. (Gayova L., Gusak I., Lisyukova
N.)
At
last we’ve arrived in Yalta. Here we’ll visit Nikitsky Botanical Garden, the
Glade of Tales, the Zoo.
Before
visiting Nikitsky Botanical Garden tell me what names of flowers and trees do
you know?
Kalugin
Tolya, our guide will tell us about Nikitsky Botanical Garden.
Nikitsky
Botanical Garden is situated not far from Yalta.
A
great collection of plants from all over the world is gathered in it. Nikitsky
Botanical Garden will be 200 years old. There are three parks in it: the Upper,
the Lower, and
Primorsky.
In
the Upper park you can see Chinese palms with shaggy
trunks.
Each leaf of such palm lives for 4 years. There are so big palms under one leaf
of which ten people can hide.
There
are brushwoods of bamboo. A bamboo lives for 100 years. A sequvoye or mamoth
tree lives in the Nikitsky Garden. They are not afraid of fire because its bark
is very
thick
and absorbs a lot of water. These trees live for 4 or 5
thousand
years.
In
the Upper Garden roses of different forms and colours grow.
The
Lower Garden is the oldest corner. Pines, oaks, cypresses grow here. There is a
grove of olive trees. Bananas, cork oaks, tulip trees grow. At the beginning of
the palm alley there are different kinds of cactuses. In the
Lower
Garden there is a grove of cedars. In spring and summer tulips, roses and
irises are in blossom. It’s fantastic. In October I visited the Nikitsky
Botanical Garden and saw the Parade of chrysanthemums. I’ll remember my
excursion forever.
Our
excursion is over, we enjoyed the beauty of the garden, breathed the fresh air
and now we set off for the Glade of Tales. Yulya will tell us about it.
A
glade of tales is a museum under the open air, where you can find more than 200
characters from children’s books, cartoons, legends. Professional painters and
sculptors helped them to settle here. They turned wood, copper, aluminium,
decorative stone and other materials into wonderful sculptures of favourite fairy
heroes. Many characters of famous fairy tales gathered here. 30 handsome
knights, Red Riding Hood, a cat in boots are here. It’s a great fun in “a glade
of tales.” Forest musicians cheer people, the crocodile Gena plays his
garmoshka. There are many wizards, sorcerers ,witches. Baba-Yaga calls children
to her hut on her chicken’s legs. Serpent Gorynych the human enemy is here.
But they don’t do any harm to children because many fairy characters such as
Svytogor, Sympton’s brothers, Cossacks from Saporozhye defend children.
Tourists visit the Kingdom of Crooked mirrors. They are in delight. Baba-Yaga
and Kikimora invite all the guests to the fairy tale performance in the
wonderful forest theatre. Not only fairy tale characters but chidren and grown
ups take part in this performance. Baba –Yaga gives
presents
to the winners of different competitions. I think “A Glade of Tales” is a
wonder which brings smiles, beauty, joy and pleasant memories to the world.
Не бойся сказки,
Бойся лжи.
А сказка? Сказка не обманет!
Друзьям ты сказку расскажи.
На свете больше правды станет.
Now we are going to visit the
zoo. But before going there let’s remember the names of birds and animals. Our
guides Nikita and Dima will tell us about it.
I’d like to tell you about
the history of this wonderful corner in the Crimea, about animals of this
Fairyland. The zoo “Fairy tale” is the first private zoo in Ukraine. The history
of the zoo begins in 1990. A zoological corner was founded next to the one of
the places of interest in Yalta “a Glade of tales.” The tourists could see
many bears, squirrels, peacocks and other animals. The zoo “Fairy tale” was
founded by Oleg Zubkov in 1995. More than 100 species of animals and 600
species of birds live here. The zoo is situated in the picturesque place not
far from the Crimean waterfall “Uchan-Su” the noise of which is heard in the
distance of some kilometres. We can feel the atmosphere of mutual love between
human and animals. You can feed and stroke animals. You can buy food for
animals and birds in the stalls here. Many little goats, pygmean piglets,
rabbits live next to tigers, lions, bears, monkeys. There are many griffon-vultures,
eagles, African and Australian ostriches, peacocks, decorative hens, ducks,
white and black swans in the zoo. I enjoy visiting the zoo.
I think you liked our
excursion.
And now we’ll set off for the
town of Stary Krym.
Беседа о бережном
отношении к природе.
We
are coming to the town of Stary Krym. We’ll visit the mountain Agar Mysh, see
the beauty of this countryside. Our guide Anya will tell us about Agar Mysh.
One of the most interesting objects of the countryside of the town Stary Krym
is Agarmysh. Agarmysh is a mou ntainous range stretching from the south-west to
the north- east. It’s
length
is about 8 kilometres. Agarmysh promoted the appearance of a settlement in the
local plain. Agarmysh is a natural obstacle from the northern winds and provides
the plain with valuable water. It consists of caves, cracks, chinks, craters.
They are formed in the result of dissolution of limestone for many ages. The
name “Agarmysh” means “albescent” from the Turkic language. Agarmysh is an
interesting object for excursions. You can see beautiful landscapes from the
peak of the mountain. When my parents and I were traveling in the countryside
of Stary Krym. I saw many peaks of the Crimean mountains covered with thick
forest. On the peak of Agarmysh we saw a wonderful place-a little clean string.
There are many places for rest in the forest equipped with tables, benches and
fire places. We could see many animals and birds here: simple and gold
pheasant, a little deer, a wild boar, a wild cat, goats. Juniper gardens are a
relic place in the mountain. I remembered the clean air and tender aroma of
juniper. Juniper has been put in the Red Book of Ukraine. The forests here are
very beautiful. There are many huge oaks, pines. We must take care of nature,
animals and birds. It’s our duty.
We’re
leaving this beautiful land and going to our native village Vladislavovka.
Let’s sing a song.
We’re
coming to Vladislavovka. Our guide Slava is meeting us. He’ll tell us about the
history of Vladislavovka.
And
now we’ve arrived in our native village.
Vladislavovka
is situated between two seas: the Black Sea and the Sea of Asov in the lowland
near the mountain ridge Botygach which begins near our village and spreads to
the village of Otvazhnoye. Vladislavovka is a big railway station. There is a
library, an ambulance station, a chemist’s shop, a school, a church, a House of
culture, shops, stalls. Our village is big and multinational. The population is
3223 people. Many years ago it was a small crym tatar settlement Oiguyu. The
people bred sheep. The first Russian settlers appeared in the second quarter of
the 19th centure. They started coming to the village after 1861 from
Kursk and Voronezh regions. They were engaged in farming. They grew wheat,
barley and oats. Our village was divided into three parts: the Central part,
Amur and Novomykhailovka or Balabayevka. Only rich peasants live here. It was
very difficult to provide people with water. That’s why people began building a
pond. But to drink healthy water people digged wells. One of the wells was
called “Krasny”. The water in that well was very tasty with pink colour. The
village was named after the engineer Vladislavovsky who led the building of the
road and the railway station. Then at the end of the 19th century a
railroad to Feodosia was built in the initiative of I. K. Ivasovsky.
During
the Great Patriotic War hard battles took place in Vladislavovka. Many people
died here. Two monuments were erected in Vladislavovka: one to the citizens of
Vladislavovka who died during the war and another to the memory of those people
who freed our village. In the Soviet period there was a collective farm “
Krasnaya armya” in the village. The North- Crimean canal was built for watering
fields and gardens of the farm, the road Dzhankoy-Feodosia were built. Nowadays
people of many nationalities live in friendship and peace; they study, work,
love and bring up their children.
