Тема:         Лос Анжелес. Голливуд.

Цель:         изучение достопримечательностей Лос Анжелеса

Задачи:      введение новой лексики;

закрепить навыки говорения, чтения, аудирования, письма;

                   уметь классифицировать фильмы по жанрам;

                   воспитывать интерес к предмету.

Оборудование: доска, компьютер, телевизор, тематическое оформление, карточки с заданиями, "Оскары" , стикеры для рефлексии.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

T. Good morning, children. I'm glad to see you. How are you today? I'm fine, thank you. Who is absent today?

T. Today we are going to visit Los Angeles. It's the second largest American city. Let’s watch a short video about it. Listen very carefully, because then I have a task for you.

1.     P 1 This is Los Angeles, It's the second largest American city. It is situated in the state of California. Its population is 3,598 000. It's one of the most beautiful and richest cities of America

2.     P.2. This is Beverly Hills. It is a small and world famous suburb next to Los Angeles. There are situated the homes of the movie stars. It is also famous for the Rodeo Street. It is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the USA.

3.     P. 3 This is Malibu. It is the most beautiful and glamorous place in America. It is known for its beautiful beach. Here celebrities can look at the ocean from the windows of their multi-million-dollars homes.

4.     P. 4 Sunset Boulevard is a boulevard in the central and western part of Los Angeles. It is famous for its active nightlife. Today it is busy main traffic part of the city.

5.      P. This is the Walk of Fame in Hollywood Boulevard. You can see there bronze stars set in the sidewalk and you can read the names of the people who made Hollywood. It is the most unusual monument to talent and success in the world. The tradition started in the late 1950s and now there are more than 2,500 stars in the sidewalk. Every year twenty new celebrities get their stars, but a star isn't cheap. It costs about 40,000 dollars to install and look after one.

6.     Universal Studios. It is the largest and most active TV studios in the world. It is one of the most successful amusement parks in the USA.

7.     P. This is Hollywood. It is the suburb of Los Angeles. It is the capital of world movie production. These are star factories. A lot of famous stars have been through the gates of these studios.

As you have known Hollywood is famous for its Walk of Fame. And I suggest you to install your own stars. Here you can see many stars with your names. You should take the star and do the task which is on it. If you do it right you install your star.

Учащиеся оформляют «Аллею звезд», выполняя разноуровневые задания.

T. Open your diaries and write down your home task. For the next lesson you should present another sightseeing of Los Angeles. You can make the presentation or you can stick the picture of this place and tell us some information about it.

At the end of our lesson I want to give you Oscars. If  I give you a red Oscar your mark is 5, if I give you a green Oscar your mark is 4 and if I give you a blue Oscar your mark is only 3.
