общении вырабатывать пути их решения с учетом мнения сторон. Воспитание
культуры общения
Задачи: Аудирование
иноязычной речи, корректное использование современных терминов при обсуждении
проблемы по заданной теме, умение выслушивать мнения оппонентов, давать разумные,
грамотные обоснования суждений, анализировать и делать выводы.
Ожидаемые результаты:
учащиеся научатся выдвигать гипотезы по возникшей проблеме, выделять основные
моменты дискуссии, будут знать тематические термины и понятия и применять их
в других дискуссиях.
Ход урока:
T: Good morning, dear boys
and girls. Good morning our dear guests! I’m glad to greet you in our hometown
of Ivanteevka, situated in a very beautiful place of Moscow region in Russia
which is surrounded by fir-trees, birches and pine-trees. Not recently I’ve
visited one of the farthest regions of Russia where I have never been before –
the Kamchatka region and I was embarrassed by the beauty of nature, people,
landscapes, volcanoes, hills and virgin forests. I’ve always been amazed by
beautiful and picturesque sights of our country, so my dream is to keep it save
for the future generations.
Well now I want you to listen to some sounds and think
about feelings, which they evoke in your hearts and souls.
(Прослушивание пения птиц и рокота
трактора).
Т: You
are two groups.
T: The first group should tell me about
positive emotions and feelings that the first sounds evoke.
T: The task for the
second group: The second groups will recollect the words expressing
negative feelings.
Now listen to these sounds. (Звучит
пение птиц и рокот работающего экскаватора)
T: Well, what positive and
negative feelings have these sounds caused?
Group1Ss: The
sounds of birds’ singing remind me of… (Happiness, joy, delight, gladness, merriment,
bliss, peace, childhood, early spring mornings at my grandmother’s country
house etc.)
Group2Ss:
The sound of working earth-moving machine reminds me of… (Threat, anger,
annoyance, trouble, danger, feeling of nervous, crash, hopelessness, unhappiness,
despair, something destructive and unpleasant).
T (задает
вопросы)
1. What sounds are more pleasant for you?
(Birds singing of course)
2. What do the sounds of working machine connected
with? (People’s interference in nature, cutting trees, digging, crushing or
running over something).
3. Are the sounds of birds singing and the
sounds of working tractor come into conflict? (Of
course they are very different. These two opposing sounds come into deep conflict).
4. What problems may people’s interference
in nature cause? E.g. Cutting trees, work of different industries producing
various goods, agriculture and so on? (They can cause ecologic problems).
5. What are these problems? (Different
kinds of pollution, water, air, soil, noise).
6. Do we come across with them in modern
life? Do we create these problems ourselves?
7. What do we use to make the process of
producing goods easier for a man? (We use different technologies and
equipment?).
8. Can technologies and modern equipment
themselves become a problem one day? I mean devices and gadgets we use to make
our life easier and more enjoyable – TVs, refrigerators, telephones computers
and so on? (Of course, they can).
9. Why can they be a problem? (Because we
don’t know how to get rid of them, we often don’t know how to recycle them, we
store them and simply throw them away).
10. What is the topic of our today’s
lesson do you think?
Ss: We think we are going to speak about ecologic
problems and discuss waste problems: how to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. So the
theme of the lesson is The Philosophy of Three Rs.
T: So open the textbooks on p 64, ex 1.
What should we do to protect the environment? Use the ideas listed to make
sentences.
T: Now we’ll read the text of ex.2 on p.
64-65. While reading, you should fill in the blanks with proper words. Then
we’ll check and discuss.
T: Today, in addition to
all existing ecologic problems, we have come across to another problem -
E-waste.
1. What
is E-waste? (It’s electric and electronic waste. Monitors, televisions,
computers, telephones, faxes, printers, DVD/VCR players, CD players, radio,
Hi-Fi sets, etc.
Refrigerators, washing machines,
dryers, air-conditioners, vacuum cleaners, coffee-machines, toasters, irons
etc.).
2. Which
of these devices do you own?
3. Which
ones have you replaced recently?
4. What
did you do with the old ones?

Waste is a tax on the whole people. We are
all responsible for nature and ecology!
It’s a very important problem because we want to
admire each day and enjoy birds singing. We don’t want to hear threatening
sounds of excavator which is might be running over rubbish and outdated gadgets
and electronic equipment.
