The group: 11.12.13 “Translation proficiency”

The type of the lesson: Combined competition lesson

The objectives:

The educational aim: To enlarge students’ vocabulary and to put questions correctly;

The development aim: To develop them to work with creating.

The up-bringing aim: To form reading, listening and speaking skills, abilities.

Methods of teaching: Deductive method

The equipment of the lesson:

  1. Visual aids: cards, blackboard, chalk, pictures;

  2. Technical means: Interactive board, presentation.


The procedure of the lesson


I.Organization moment

1. Greeting with pupils, to introduce them;

2. Speaking about the weather conversation;

- Good morning students!

- How are you today?

- What is the weather like today?

- Who is on duty today?

- What date is it today?

- What day is it today?

- Who is absent?

3. Checking up the home task.

- What was your home task?

- Home task was to retell the text “New Zealand”.

- And what task you have on grammar theme?

- We have on grammar The Present and The Past Indefinite Tense.

- Ok, I will check up home task. First of all I will begin from the text. You must answer the question by theme “New Zealand” which is in the board.


New Zealand

New Zealand is an independent state. It is situated to the south-east of Australia. It has a total area of 269,000 square kilometres. Nearly 3,5 million people live in the country. The official language is English.

The capital of New Zealand is Wellington. It was founded in 1840 and has been the capital since 1865. Wellington is a financial centre too.

New Zealand is rich in minerals. There are some basic industries in the country, for example, iron and steel industry. New Zealand exports apples and honey.

The climate of New Zealand is moist. There are many mountains in New Zealand.

New Zealand is a self-governing state. The parliament consists of one House only, the House of Representatives. The Prime Minister is the head of the government.

There are some educational and cultural institutions in Wellington.

New Zealand is a very interesting and beautiful country.

Новая Зеландия – независимое государство. Она расположена к юго-востоку от Австралии. Ее общая территория составляет 269.000 квадратных километров. В стране проживает около 3,5 миллиона человек. Официальный язык английский.

Столица Новой Зеландии – Веллингтон. Город был основан в 1840 году и является столицей с 1865 года. Веллингтон является также центром финансовых операций.

Новая Зеландия богата минеральными ресурсами. В стране есть отрасли тяжелой промышленности, например черная металлургия. Новая Зеландия экспортирует яблоки и мед.

Климат в Новой Зеландии влажный. В Новой Зеландии много гор.

Новая Зеландия – самоуправляющееся государство. Парламент состоит только из одной палаты-Палаты представителей. Премьер-министр является главой правительства.

В Веллингтоне также находятся образовательные и культурные институты.

Новая Зеландия очень интересная и красивая страна.

The Present Simple

  1. I am a student. I study at college. Every day I get up at 7 o'clock.

  2. We have our breakfast and go to the office.

  3. It is seven o'clock now, but we are sleeping because it is Saturday and we don't have the lesson.


The Past Simple

  1. He helped to my mother, because he was my friend.

  2. When he was 14 he visited Italy.


  1. When did he start to compose music? He did not compose music, he only decided to begin it.




  1. Explaining of new theme “Seasons of the year”


"Today we are going on talking about seasons. First you will listen to the riddles about seasons of the year .Then I will ask from every team answers one by one.


Riddles:



1 The weather is cold. Usually it snows. The days are short and the nights are long. You can see snow everywhere. The rivers and lakes freeze and we can go skating and skiing.


Answer: Winter (3rd picture)


It is a very nice season. The weather is fine, it is warm. There are many green trees in the streets, in the parks and in the yards. Sometimes it rains, but as usual the sun shines brightly. The birds return from the hot countries and make their nests.


Answer: Spring (4th picture)


It is hot or warm. The days are long and the nights are short. There are many green trees and nice flowers in the parks and in the squares in summer. The pupils don't go to school, they have got their summer holidays.


Answer: Summer (1st picture)


It is cool. The weather is changeable. It often rains. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The birds prepare to fly to the South. One can see yellow, red, brown leaves everywhere. It is time for gathering harvest.


Answer: Fall (2nd picture)


Ok, and we knew the seasons, that they are 4: Summer, spring, fall, and winter.

Now, I want to present you the presentation about Seasons of the year. And besides it, I will give you the words of this song.

The birds come back from the warm countries. Rabbits wear grey coats. Children can play outdoors. They run, jump, skip and play football.

The trees are yellow, red and brown. The apples are yellow and red. People gather the autumn harvest. In September pupils go to school.

  1. Grammar and vocabulary: The future Indefinite Tense

Future simple/ Future Indefinite tense


Образуется при помощи вспомогательного глагола, который необходим не только в вопросительных, но и в утвердительных предложениях.

Для образования Future Indefinite Tense берутся вспомогательные глаголы shall-для 1-го лица единственного и множественного числа и will-для всех остальных лиц. После вспомогательного глагола ставится инфинитив спрягаемого глагола без частицы to:

I shall work we shall work

He will work you will work

She will work they will work

It will work


Future Indefinite указывает на то, что действие будет совершаться в будущем:


We shall have dinner in a great hall.

Мы будем обедать в огромном зале.

At dark the rain will stop.

К вечеру дождь прекратился.


Вопросительная форма образуется при помощи употребления вспомогательного глагола перед подлежащим:


Will you put sugar in your coffee?

Вы будете класть сахар в кофе.

What shall we do without raincoat?

Что же мы будем делать без плаща?


При образовании отрицательной формы между вспомогательным и смысловым глаголоми ставиться отрицание not:


I shall not put sugar in my coffee.

Я не буду класть сахар в кофе.

They will not go without raincoat.

Они не выйдут из дома без плаща.

Сокращения:

I`ll (ail) = I shall

He `ll (hi: i) = He will

I shan`t ( = I shall

He won’t = He will not.
