Good morning, boys and girls! Nice to see you!
How are you?
Tell me please what is the weather like today?
Talking on the pupil on duty:
Who is on duty today?
Who’s absent or late today?
What date is it today? And what day is it today?
Good morning teacher!
We are OK. And you?
Today is warm and sunny!
I am on duty today.
All are present.
Today is the 4th of November. Today is Monday.
To learn greeting and to show warm relationship to each other and to ask their feelings.
So today we are going to continue talking about Past
Perfect. At first we will revise 3 forms of the verbs.
Let’s start. Please listen, repeat and complete the three forms of irregular verbs.
To know 3 forms of the
irregular verbs. To teach to pronounce them correctly.
Now I will check your homework.
What was your home task? Has everybody done the homework?
Ok. We will check. Please read one by one.
Checking is important to know in what children don’t understand. And explain them their mistakes.
So today we are going to continue talking about Past Perfect. Past Perfect Өткен шақтағы (Past Indefinite) have – had көмекші етістігі мен мағыналы еті
стіктің өткен шақтағы есімшесі (Past Participle – V3(PII)) арқылы жасалады. had етістігі жақ бойынша өзгермейді.
Өткен шақтағы белгілі бір уақытқа дейін аяқталған оқиғаны білдіреді.
Оқиға байланысты болуы мүмкін:
I had learned all the words by six o'clock. – Сағат 6-ға дейін мен барлық сөздерді жаттап алдым.
He had completed his work by five o'clock. – Ол сағат 5-ке дейін өз жұмысын аяқтады.
Оmar had learned English before he came to America. – Омар Америкаға келгенше ағылшын тілін үйренді.
I saw that my friends had gone. – Мен достарымның әлдеқашан кетіп қалғанын көрдім.
By that time (сол уақытта)
By 5 p.m. (5-ке жақын)
By Wednesday (Сәрсенбіге)
Before the party (мейрамға дейін)
When I came (мен келгенде…)
When he phoned (мен звандағанда …)
Before the concert began (концерт басталғанға дейін…)
Now I will tell you one case that I had. I have had a bad couple of days. My house has been burgled. I usually build it up a little bit first with a story about how I finished work late and then I had problems on the way home and then couldn’t believe my eyes when I got home.
When I arrived home I realized I’d been burgled. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The burglars:
had broken down the door
had left my papers and photos all over the floor
had locked my dog in the cellar/shed had taken my... ( a special item)
had smashed a window
had stolen my laptop
had eaten the cake I’d bought for my (friend/daughter/wife)’s birthday
had urinated all over the floor
Together as a class get students to remember the various events and write up the list on the board. Then spend some time thinking about the form and meaning.
Do students know the name of this tense? (past perfect)
How is it formed? (had + past participle)
Why do we use this tense and not the simple past in this example? (How could we tell the same story using only the simple past? (The burglars broke down the door. They stole the laptop etc. The teacher arrived home.)
Why do we use the past perfect in this story?
had + V3(PII)
1) сағатқа, уақытқа,мезгілге т.б;
2) басқа оқиғаға немеса қимылға;
Бұл жағдайда Past Continuous Tense бағыныңқы құрмалас сөйлемде өткен шақтардың бір формасымен қолданылады.
To develop pupils’ skills in using Past Tense in life. To develop thinking skills
describing past events.
Put students into groups of three or four and give each group a situation. They should keep this secret from other groups.
Parents arrive home from holiday having left their teenage son in charge of the house. They soon realize he’s had a big party while they were away. Start: When they arrived home they saw...
A man arrived home having left his new puppy on its own for the first time. Start: When he arrived home he saw...
Someone arrived home to discover his/her partner has clearly found out about the affair he/she’d been having with his/her secretary. Start: When s/he arrived home s/he saw...
A teacher came back into the class and realized she shouldn’t have left the students on their own for that long. Start: She walked back in and saw...
The teacher needs to go to each group just to make sure they have the idea of what to do and then continue to help and monitor throughout the activity.
To develop speaking skills.
To check their understanding.
So the lesson comes to its end. What have you learned today? Is everything clear about using Past Perfect ?
If it is so, if you have understand, your home task give a small situation using Past Perfect.
The next lesson will be on Wednesday. Thank you for your attendance. Please, clean the blackboard. The lesson is over you may be free. Good bye!
