Урок по английскому языку

«Защита окружающей среды» в 6 классе


  • познавательные: развитие познавательного интереса учащихся;

План урока.

I. Организационный момент. Беседа с дежурным.

T.: Good morning! I’m glad to see you. Say me please. Who is on duty today?

P.: I’m on duty today.

T.: You are a weatherman. Please, tell us about the weather for tomorrow.

(Pupils, please, make notes! What will you do in such weather tomorrow?)

P.: Good morning! I’m a weatherman. My name is Antony. Listen to the weather forecast for tomorrow. Shebekino will be cold. The weather will be foggy tomor-row morning. The temperature at night will be two degrees above zero. The tempe-rature by day will be five degrees above zero. We expect a rain in the evening. Pro-bably it will be windy. The pressure will be 740 mm. They say it is going to get even colder. Thank you. Good luck!

T.: Pupils, you have listened the weather forecast for tomorrow. Tell me:

What will you do in such weather tomorrow?

P1: If the weather is cold, I’ll stay at home.

P2: If it is foggy, I won’t go to Belgorod.

P3: If it is rainy, I’ll play computer games at home.

P4: If the weather is cold, we won’t go outdoors.

P5: If the temperature is five degrees above zero, I’ll put on my coat and go for a walk. Etc.

T.: Whatever the weather we shall speak about ecology today.

Our theme is “The protection of the environment”.

T.: About what will we speak today?

P.: We will speak about the protection of the environment, about ecology.

T.: All right. Our tasks are: You must learn

* to express your opinion;

* to speak on the subject;

* to take an interview.

II. Активизация лексики. Выполнение упражнений.

1. T.: First we shall do some warming-up exercises. Let us review the words!

Who knows more words? I give you the word “environment”. Please write the

new words from our theme “The protection of the environment” as much as possible!


Учащиеся записывают слова на доске:


T.: All right! I see you know the words very well!

2. T.: The next task for you.

The people all over the world think and speak so much about ecology. Why?

Look at here! (На доске записаны слова.)

Make up sentences using the Present Indefinite Passive!

P6: Forests are ruined. Weather is changed. Etc.

T.: It is really so. I want to say: If people want to survive they must solve these problems quickly. We need clean air and clean water for our health. Do you agree with me? (Учащиеся высказывают своё мнение.)

P7: I agree with you. The water is not clear but brown and there’s rubbish floa-ting in it. Nothing can live or grow in this polluted water.

P8: I want to say that large cities with thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the world today. They pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we live on and destroy the ozone layer, which could plunge our pla-net into a global catastrophe.

P9: Besides many cities suffer from smog. Vast forests are cut down and burnt by fires. As a result some rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants disappear forever, and rivers and lakes dry up. Etc.

T.: You are right!

3. T.: You have read the text about the protection of the environment. What can you say about it?

T.: Please complete the sentences!

1) The problem of the environment is much spoken about … (on TV, radio and in the newspapers.)

2) There are a lot of people who think about … (the future of the planet.)

4. T.: Well done! And now answer my questions! What do you think?

1) What does the word environment mean?

2) What are the most serious environmental problems? (Water pollution, air pollution, nuclear pollution, noise from cars, buses, planes, destruction of wildlife and countryside beauty, shortage of natural resources, the growth of population.)

3) What makes the sea waters dangerous nowadays?

4) Where does air pollution in the cities mostly come from? (What can you say about air pollution?)

5) Why are nuclear power stations dangerous?

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы.)

III. Говорение.

1. Участие в телешоу.

T.: We have done some warming-up exercises and now we’ll speak about the protection of the environment.

Imagine! Your class was asked to take part in the TV show called “Save our planet!” What do you think about it? You may choose one of these subjects. Plea-se get ready to speak in this TV programme. Each of you has 2 minutes for prepa-ring. You may express your opinion! (How do you treat the protection of the environment?) (Учащиеся выражают своё мнение.)

1) P10: The pollution of air and the world’s ocean, destruction of the ozone layer is the result of man’s careless interaction with nature, a sign of ecological crises.

The most horrible ecological disaster befell Belarus and its people as the res-ult of the Chernobyl tragedy in April 1986. About 18 per cent of the territory of Belarus was polluted with radioactive substances. Great damage has been done to the republic’s agriculture, forests and people’s health. The consequences of this ex-plosion at the atomic power-station have been truly tragic for the Belarusian nati-on.

Environmental protection is a universal concern. That is why serious measu-res to create a system of ecological security should be taken. Etc.

T.: You are right. I agree with you.

2) P11: (демонстрирует презентацию «Защита окружающей среды» и комментирует).

T.: Your presentation was great! Thanks.

2. Физкультминутка (на английском языке).

П. англ. языка: I think you are tired. Let’s have a rest! (Уч-ся делают зарядку.)

If you please.

Touch your shoulders,

Touch your nose,

Touch your ears,

Touch your toes,

Raise your hands high in the air,

At your sides, on your hair.

Raise your hands as before.

While you clap: one, two, three, four.

3. Демонстрация постеров.

T.: Pupils! You have made the environmental posters at home. Please show me and our guests your posters! Say, what are your posters about? It was your home task. (Учащиеся демонстрируют свои постеры и рассказывают, о чём они.)

P11: (Учащийся демонстрирует свой слайд.) It is my poster “Keep the water clean!” People have to solve a lot of environmental problems and one of them is water pollution. Many plants and factories were built without any purification ins-

tallations and now they contaminate our lakes and rivers with their waste.

For example, Lake Baikal. Fifty percent of the world’s purest water has been ruined by the activity of a pulp-and-paper factory. It was the problem of Baikal that made our people think seriously about the man-nature relationship.

Now some countries build plants with a closed-loop recycling system. Such en-terprises don’t have any waste water because every time it is purified and re used.


IV. Диалогическая речь.

T.: I’m glad that you have expressed your opinion. And now: Will you discuss these environmental problems in pairs. Interview your partner about it. How does he treat the protection of the environment?

I have a good idea. You will take an interview by well-known (popular) people.

For example: Who wants to be a pop-singer (a president, a minister, a director, a professor, a business man?) (Учащиеся выбирают и дают интервью.)

For example:

Reporter: Hello!

Director: Hello!

Reporter: I’m the reporter from the newspaper ”Shebekino-news”. My name is Boris. What is your name?

Director: My name is Vladimir Petrovich.

Reporter: Where do you work?

Director: I work at an office.

Reporter: How do you treat the protection of the environment?

Director: Positively. I think, that the protection of the environment is the main ecological problem. We must help nature: water, flowers and trees. We must keep the country tidy. We have to control atmospheric and water pollu-tion.

Reporter: Thank you for your opinion! I agree with you. Good luck!

Director: Thanks.

T.: You have worked in pairs very well! I’m pleased with you.

V. Заключительный этап урока.

1. Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия.

T.: (демонстрирует презентацию «Environmental problems» и предлагает учащимся выполнить тест с целью закрепления изученного материала).

T.: We have discussed a very important problem – the problem of the protec-tion of the environment. Let’s sum up our work. Draw conclusions!

P1: To my mind today’s problem – the problem of the protection of the enviro-nment – is very important in our world. People can reserve rainforests making them national parks. To keep seas clean it’s necessary to stop polluting them. To stop acid rains we need to make factories and power stations cleaner.

P2: We must save as much water, paper and wood as possible.

P3: Our Earth is so beautiful. Nature gives people its riches to live and enjoy. We cannot live without fresh air, clean water, sunshine. That’s why we must take care of it. We must keep our rivers and lakes, forests and towns clean. We must plant flowers – not to pick them.

T.: I agree with you. I want to say a little. Look at this balloon! Imagine that it is our Earth – our planet. This planet is fragile as this balloon. The people are be-ginning to understand that the environment is (not just their own town or country, but) the whole earth. That’s why people all over the world think and speak so much about ecology.

2. Домашнее задание.

T.: In conclusion I suggest you the interesting hometask for the next lesson. Write down: exercises №33, p.85; №30, p.84. (What can you do to help the world? What each of you could personally do to help protect the environment?)

The task is: The Greenpeace organization asked you to design T-shirts telling

people about ecological problems of the day. You may design these T-shirts on sheets of paper.
