it. The Mona Lisa's fame is the result of many chance circumstances combined
with the painting's inherent appeal. There is no doubt that the Mona Lisa is a
very good painting. It was highly regarded even as Leonardo worked on it, and
his contemporaries copied the then novel three-quarter pose.

Her work in the Crimea set the standards for modern nursing.

after she was severely injured in a bus accident she began painting mostly
self-portraits.

Ivan Kruzenshtern, Nikolai Rezanov. They were famous imperial navigators. Their
reports were very essential and were translated into several languages.

across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502. He was
determined to find a direct water route west from Europe to Asia, but he never

Dali. He was a famous artist. In 1923 Dali was expelled for one year from the
San Fernando Academy for criticizing his lecturers and causing dissent amongst

developed the special and general theories of relativity, pioneering many key
developments.
