Ход урока
1. Приветствие.
Hello
everybody,
I’d
like to start the lesson with a poem and I think it has something to do with
all of you.
Teenage
problems
Why
is nothing ever easy?
Why
are some boys are so sleazy?
Why
can’t I have that brand new dress?
Why
am I under so much stress?
Why
don’t my parents ever believe me?
Why
can’t they ever see?
Why
do I feel so often unhappy?
Why
does my face feel like a block of lard?
Why
are all these years really hard?
There
is a reason for all these problems and tears,
I’m
going through my Teenage years!
-
A
person goes through different stages of life. Some of them are easy, some of
them are hard.
-
What
are these stages? -an infant / a baby, a toddler,
a child,
a teenager,
an adolescent,
a young adult,
middle-aged,
a senior citizen, elderly.
-
What
stages have you gone through?
-
Which
of these stages seem to be the most difficult, unpredictable, full of various
problems?
Today
we will try to fund out the answers to the questions that arise related to this
topic and find out solutions to the generation gap between teenagers and their
parents, teenagers, friends.
2. We
are going to work in 2 teams.
First, try to answer the
questions written on the board.
-
Who
are teenagers?
-
What
do they go through? First love, self-esteem, comparing yourself with others,
-
Is
being teenager easy or difficult and why?
-
What
is it like to be a teenager?
3. Here
are some statements. Agree or disagree.
-
Adults
don’t like teenagers.
-
Teenagers
are not kids, they are adults.
-
Teenagers
don’t have enough respect for adults.
-
Teenagers
are dangerous.
-
Teenagers
belong to a completely different culture.
4. Teenage
or adolescence is a period of life between 13-19.
-What
do you like about your age?
-What
do you dislike?
-Which
of the following things would you like to change about yourselves, about being
a teenager?
1.
Hair style
2.
Sleeping patterns
3.
Manners
4.
Habits
5.
Musical tastes
6.
Friends
7.
Fashion style
8.
Some other things
5. Problems and
dangers
In order to find them you
will have to discuss the following questions and write them on the
board.
A.
What
do teenagers worry about?
Personal
problems
School
problems
Discrimination
Violence
Aggressiveness
Drug
addiction
Alcohol
and smoking
B.
Where
do teens face their problems, what places: in the family, at school, in the
street, in the bus
C.
Why
do teens have problems?
D.
Who
can help teens?
6.
Imagine that you are counselors from the organization
TARP-Teenagers are Real People. Make a list of advice and guidelines you would
give to teenagers with the problems they have.
Here
are the cards with real life situations.
A.
I
can’t find a boy/girl friend.
B.
My
parents force me to study non-stop.
C.
My
teacher finds fault with me all the time.
D.
I
don’t want to go outside because I have so many acnes.
E.
I
can’t go to the party as I don’t have a new dress.
And
now make a list of advice , at least 4-5, to give to your parents and teachers.
7.
It’s time for us to draw a conclusion.
Let
us write it on the board.
Being
young is –wonderful – because…..
-terrible
-difficult
8. I would like to
close our lesson with the words of the poem that I read at the beginning of
the lesson.
But hey, you are alive,
you are unique, you are so cool.
Why do you always feel
such a fool?
Be true to yourself;
forget all your faults,
And you’ll soon be
thinking much happier thoughts.
Live life to the max and
pain your town red.
Who cares what people
think and what they’ve said?
Don’t let them win and
make you feel bad,
Cause people like that
are really quite sad,
So, enjoy your teens and
have some fun,
Your life has only just
begun!
(Lauren, Romford)
Thank you for the lesson.
