To prepare us for speaking let’s revise the English poems connected with four
seasons (SLIDES 1-4).

home task was to prepare the weather-forecast in different cities around the
world. Read your weather-forecast.
4. Lexical activities
T: Find 6 words about the weather in spring, summer, autumn and
winter in their puzzles and make up your own sentences:

There are a lot of proverbs and sayings about seasons, weather and nature. What
equivalents have you found to these English proverbs and sayings:
Everything is good in its season.
It never rains but it pours.
April showers bring May flowers.
After rain comes fair weather.
One swallow does not make a spring.
A snowy year is a rich year.
Make hay while the sun shines.
5. Reading (ex. 2, p. 155)
T: Read and say where Ann’s father is and what the
weather is there.
6. Speaking
Look through the roles and act out a conversation.
- Your friend wants to invite you to the cinema but the
weather is cloudy and rainy.
According to the weather-forecast it is going to be
sunny on Sunday. Ask your friend to go to the cinema on Sunday.
