4. Before we
start our main lesson let’s check your homework.
5. I show you
different pictures and you should say what’s this.
6. Choose any
colour paper you like and now divide into 2 groups. Open your books on page
112, see ex. 1. The 1st group should find sentences about
Christmas in Britain. The 2d group should find sentences about Christmas in
Belarus and then you should read these sentences.
- For your good
start I give to each of the group an ornament for the Christmas Tree. Your
aim at the lesson is to get as many ornaments as it possible to decorate
Christmas Tree. The more beautiful our Christmas Tree the better your marks
will be.
7. Next task is
to guess the words and to write them on the board. I give to each of the team
the card. The team which will be the 1st will get an ornament.
8. Next task is
to name the odd one out. Listen to me attentively. I’ll read the words and
you should name the odd one. For every right word you’ll get an ornament.
1) Santa Clause,
Christmas Tree, Christmas cake, parade
2) Christmas,
Independence day, April Fool’s day, Victory day, New Year’s day
3) decorate,
hang, sing, invite, presents

9. Now let’s
talk about symbols of Christmas. You have some minutes to discuss in groups
then the team that will name more symbols will get an ornament.
10. Now let’s
have a rest. We have just mentioned that Christmas carol is a symbol of
Christmas. So let’s sing a Christmas carol all together.
Thank you very
much for this beautiful singing.
11. You may see
the pictures on the board. You should look and write what they are doing now.
What tense should you use? (Present Continuous Tense). For every right answer
I’ll give you an ornament.
12. We say that
Britains have a tradition to write the cards and send them to their friends
and relatives. So let’s write Christmas cards and give them to our guests.
Take these papers. You may see my cards as an example. What can we write in
the card? (Be happy, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Merry Christmas).
You have some minutes.
- Dear guests!
Pupils want to congratulate you with Christmas. They wish you happiness and
luck. Merry Christmas!
Count the
ornaments and say me the quantity. And now let’s decorate our Christmas Tree.
Take the ornaments and glue. And stick them to the Christmas Tree.
