Title of the lesson: Present Simple
- to consolidate students’ knowledge on the function and use of present simple;
- to review and give practice in present simple and adverbs of frequency;
- to write a test to check students’ awareness of previously taught grammar point.
Materials: Student’s book (Laser A1+), cards with sentences, calendar papers, the record of the song, whiteboard
Greetings: Hello, boys and girls! How are you? I’m glad to see you! Please sit down!
Today, at the lesson we’ re going to consolidate and review our knowledge on present simple and adverbs of frequency. We’ re going to practice some exercises.
Warming-up: Brainstorming. You have papers and some exercises on your tables. You have to decide which sentences are in present simple and stick them on the piece of papers.
Present simpleOn the board:
She is always late for school.
It snows in winter.snows in winter.
Peter doesn’t play football every day.
I always go to bed at 10 o’clock.
They like going to the cinema.
- Let’s look who has done this exercise right. Group _ has all sentences right. Well done!
Review present simple and adverbs of frequency:
a) You have calendars. You should make up a short story about children’s daily routine. Don’t forget to use adverbs of frequency. Who can remember them? To check how carefully your classmates listened to you should make up 3 questions.
b) Presentation of stories
Students prepare the stories and questions and then present them.
