Цели урока:

·       совершенствование речевых навыков по теме « Хобби»;

·       формирование потребности в организации своего свободного времени;

Задачи урока:

 1.     практические:

·       совершенствование  навыков диалогической речи по теме «Хобби»;

·       совершенствование навыков чтения с извлечением необходимой информации;

·       развитие навыка перевода;

2.  образовательные:

·       введение лексического материала по теме «Хобби»;

3.   развивающие:

·       развитие умения находить необходимую информацию в воспринимаемом на слух тексте;

·       развитие языковой догадки учащихся;

·       развитие навыков орфографии;

·       развитие способности общаться на английском языке;

4.    воспитательные:

·       воспитание интереса и уважения к стране изучаемого языка;

·       научить правильно организовывать свой досуг;

·       воспитание уважительного отношения к увлечениям своих одногруппников;

Оснащение урока: Planet of English - учебник английского языка для учреждений НПО и СПО, компьютер, проектор, экран, авторская презентация к уроку, раздаточный материал, аудиозаписи.

Ход урока.

I. Организационный момент.                                                                                                                

T: Stand up please. Good morning, my dear friends! Sit down please.  I am very glad to see you. I hope that you are fine today.

- Listen attentively my questions and answer them. (Слайд 1)   

  T: What day is it today?                                                                                                                                 T: What date is it today?

T: What day was it yesterday?

T: What date was it yesterday?

T: What day was it the day before yesterday?

T: What date was it the day before yesterday?

T: What day will be the day after tomorrow?

T: What date will be the day after tomorrow?

T: When is your birthday?

T: When were you born?

T: That’s done. Very well.

II.Сообщение темы урока, постановка цели и задачи урока.

T:  I think it’s time to begin our lesson So, today we’ll know what do you like to do in your free time, what is your hobby. There are more than 1,000  personal interests and ways to spend one’s free time. Nowadays the most popular hobbies are collecting CDs, playing computer games, going in for sports, listening to music, dancing… Everybody of us has a hobby. And who says what is the topic of our lesson is it today?

Yes, you are right. Our topic is “What is your hobby”?

III. Речевая зарядка.

T: We begin our lesson with repeating your homework. Say what must you do at home? Well. Your homework was to learn new words to our topic Hobbies. Open your books at page 61 ex 6. Listen attentively the speaker and repeat after him.

T: I think it is a high time to check your home task. Let’s remember the words you have learned at home. Give the Russian equivalents of the following words:    (Слайды 2, 3)      

T: Listen attentively my words in Russian and give the English equivalents of the following words:

 Фантастика, мотоцикл, распространенный, удовлетворять, предпочтение, смотреть телевизор, играть в компьютерные игры, слушать музыку, регги, популярная музыка, спокойный, активный.

T: So, let`s continue our lesson. I want to ask you a question. What is a hobby? Can you give a determination? (Слайд 4)

-                     Pupil 1: A hobby is an activity that you like to do.

-                     Yes, you are very clever. A hobby is that you enjoy or like to do in your free time on a regular basis or every time.

T – Now, Look at the screen and match the words and their descriptions.

Gardening is to work in the garden;

Traveling is to go from one place or to different places,

Taking pictures is to make a photo;

Collecting things is to bring things together;

Keeping fit is to be healthy and slim;

Go by bike is to ride a bike;

Going for a walk is to walk;

To be fond of reading is to adore reading.

VI. Аудирование. Закрепление изученного материала.

T: So, my dear friends, now you must listen to the text about hobby and then you do some exercises. Look at the screen please. Here is the text. (Слайд № 6)       

 Rich people often collect paintings, rare things and other art objects. Often such private collections are given to museums and libraries. As for me, I like to listen to music.  Therefore I collect compact discs. I like different music. I collect discs of my favourite groups and singers. I carefully study the printed news. I try to find everything about my favourite singers. I also like to watch music programmes on TV. I want to keep up with the information in the world of music.

V. Practice (Слайд № 7)       

T: Students, you have some sheets of paper on your tables. Please take the sheet of paper number 1, listen to the text once more and complete this text with the words and phrases from the box. You have some minutes to preparing.

VI. Развитие диалогической речи

T: OK. You are very clever boys.

1. The next task. Take from the table the sheets of paper number 2. Read these dialogues, say what hobbies they are about. (Appendix 2)

David: Do you have a hobby?

Vlad: Yes. I do. My hobby is fishing.

David: Oh, great. Tell me about your hobby.

Vlad: It is a very interesting kind of hobby. I can go fishing with my father or friends. It is good to sit at the river, to see the nature. My mother will be happy to cook fish for me and my family!  What about you?

David: I have a hobby too. My hobby is sport. I like sport very much. Sports play a very big role in our life. It helps us to be in good form. We can play football, basketball, tennis, golf, badminton, hockey, darts, polo. We can run, jump, swim in the summer and in the winter! We can become a popular sportsman!

Vlad: That’s great. And what kind of sports do you go in for?

David: I go in for boxing.

Vlad: Fine.

T: Say, what hobby has David? (Vlad)

Alex: Have you got a hobby?

Max: Yes, I have. My hobby is dancing. It is a very beautiful and good kind of hobby. You can visit dancing club after lessons or dance at home. If you can dance well, you can show it at the disco, at the parties with your friends! And, I hope, you have a hobby too. What is your hobby?

Alex: I’m fond of travelling. It is very interesting to travel by train and by plane, by car and by bus, by ship and by boat. You can see the nature: the sun and clouds, trees and flowers, cities and villages. You can visit interesting places!

 Max:That’s wonderfull.

Alex: What kind of dancing do like?

 Max: I like brakedance.

Alex: Very well.

T: Say, what hobby has Alex? (Max)

Victor: Have you got a hobby?

Vova: Yes, of course. My hobby is painting. It is a very interesting kind of hobby. You can draw cats and dogs, trees and flowers, the sun and clouds, houses and cars, boys and girls. You draw with colors: red, blue, green, yellow, brown, grey, black, white, orange, pink, violet. And what is your hobby?

Victor: My hobby is listen to music. You can listen to music everywhere: in the house, in the street, in the café, in the car, at the disco. Music improves your mood! But don’t listen it too loudly, it is not good!  I like rock very much.

Vova: It’s wonderful.

Victor: And what do like to paint?

Vova: I like to paint nature: trees, sky, grass, water and sun. I like to draw small playing children.

Victor: Excellent.

T: Say, what hobby has Vova? (Victor)

Ivan: Have you got a hobby?

Dima: Yes, of course. My hobby is reading. It is a very good and useful hobby. You can read about animals and birds, the rivers and the seas, fantasy countries and heroes. Then you can discuss books with your friends! And what is your hobby?

Ivan: My hobby is walking.  It is a very useful kind of hobby. You must walk every day – in the forest, in the yard. Fresh air – is a good thing. You will be healthy and strong. Go walking with your friends every day!

Dima: You are right. That’s great.

Ivan: What kind of books do like to read? What is your favourite book?

Dima: I like to read fantasy. My favourite book is Harry Potter.

Ivan: Yes, I saw this film. It’s great.

T: Say, what hobby has Dima? (Ivan)

Sergei: What do you prefer doing in your free time?

Dima: I prefer to play computer games in my free time. It is a very popular kind of hobby nowadays. People like to work with computer, to play interesting games. But don’t sit more than 2 hours a day at the computer! Do you have a hobby?

Sergei: Yes, I do. I like to watch TV after classes, at the weekends and in the evenings. It is a popular way to spend free time too. You can watch interesting films, colored cartoons, documental programs, sport competitions, music shows. But don’t sit close to a TV-set!

Dima: I understand you. What films do prefer to watch?

Sergei: I like to watch horror films. And what computer games do you like to play.

Dima: I like to play Tanks.

Sergei: Oh, a lot of students like to play this game. 

T: Say, what hobby has Dima? (Sergej)

T: Very well, you are right.

2. Now look at the screen and answer my questions please. (Слайд № 9)

3.     What do you like to do in the evenings?

4.     What do you like to do at the weekends?

5.     Do you like to listen to music?

6.     What music do you like to listen?

7.     Do you like to read books?

8.     What books do like to read? (fantasy, science fiction, detective stories, love stories)

9.     Do you go in for sports?

10. What kind of sports do you go in for? (swimming, tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, skiing, skating)

T: OK.

And now work in pairs and make up your own dialogues and act them. I have you some minutes, if you need take dictionaries.

T: So, my dear friends, the time is over we begin to check your task. Who begins?

T: Very well.

The next task for you. You are to read short texts and  guess what hobby is it? Is it clear? Look at the screen. (Слайды № 10-14)       

Such people like to visit different cities, towns and historical places. Some people even visit other countries. They can travel by car, by plane, by train, by bus or on foot. This hobby helps them to learn history, geography and traditions of different people and countries.

-Pupil : Travelling

People like to spend their free time near the rivers or lakes. They often go there with their friends or relatives. They can have a picnic there. They go usually there in summer but some people like to go there in winter too. Also they can boil fish broth (soup) after going there.

-Pupil 1:Fishing

This hobby is interesting and useful. People try to find or buy different things such as stamps, badges, coins, pictures and dolls. Their collection can be thematic. This hobby helps people to make new friends and to learn some new things about countries and lands, animals and birds, famous people and historical events.

-Pupil 3: Collecting

This hobby is popular with the people of all ages. People like to go to the stadium or to the sports ground. They are strong and healthy. Their hobby helps to develop their mind and body and teaches them to plan their time.

-Pupil 2: Sports

People like to go to the library. Some of them have a good collection of books at home. And they are really proud of it. They can have different books: fiction, historical novels, books about animals and birds, books about different countries. Their hobby helps them to relax, to learn the world and understand people better.

-Pupil 4 : Reading

T: Now, it is time to make a conclusion of our lesson. So, today we’ve spoken about our hobbies.

At the next lesson we shall speak about the teenagers’ hobbies in the Great Britain and in the USA. Today I am going to give you good marks.
