Halloween
В
рамках изучения культуры и обычаев страны изучаемого языка, ребятам
предлагается ознакомиться с наиболее распространенными фольклорными
персонажами данного праздника, узнать о его происхождении, способах празднования.
Выступление
происходило в конце октября. Ребята заранее подготовили роли, подготовили
костюмы и угощения. Данный сценарий можно использовать для учеников среднего
звена.

Every
year on October ,31 people in Great Britain celebrate Halloween. The tradition
of Halloween began in the 5 century BC. On this day Irish Celts celebrated
their New Year according their agricultural calendar.

People
believed that bad spirits like ghosts, elves, goblins, witches came on that
night. That was the last evening when they could dance in the moonlight, walk
into people’s houses, scare children and adults.

I
am a ghost, spirit of a dead human being. I live in the graveyard and come by
night to scare people.

I
am an elf, elemental spirit of Air. We are fairies of small size, we dance on
the grass or sit in the leaves. We have golden hair, sweet musical voices and
magic harps. And we can fly!

am Jack-o-lantern. I live in the thick dark forest and like to mislead belated
travellers.

I
am a goblin, a phantom spirit. We are wicked, unfriendly to people and love
gold and jewels, which they are always trying to take away from gnomes.

am a witch. We are humans. We are sorcerers riding a broom or a rake. We have a
familiar – a black cat.

am a troll, a hill spirit. People call us clumsy, tailed, with long hair and
nails. They also call us filthy, stinky and greedy.

spirits, let’s make a spell!
When
ghosts and goblins come to town,
And
skeletons all dance around,
You
pull those covers over your head
And
men – WATCH OUT!!!

To
keep the bad spirits away people dressed like witches and ghosts. Children
still do so if they go to Halloween parties. People often put up decorations
for Halloween parties and play games.

go trick or treating! (Children exchange treats)

Let’s
play some traditional games!

1.
Mummy wrapping. (2 teams compete in wrapping their teammates. You’ll need 2
rolls of paper)

Write Halloween words. The teams are given 5 min to write as many words on
Halloween theme as they can.
Game
3.
Playing Halloween charades. In turn teams pick paper stripes with the tasks
like: act out a ghost using a bank machine
Skeleton riding a bike
Vampire at the dentist
Spider baking cookies
Witch playing basketball etc.
The
other team has to guess.
Game 4. Listen to Winnie the witch’s song
A magic spell. Write down all the ingredients she sings about (snake’s teeth,
bat’s eyes…)
At the end of the event the children can
have Halloween snacks –marmalade snakes and spiders, jelly eyes, bloody drinks
(tomato juice) etc.
