  3. Revision: Reported Speech: -Declarative Sentences;

-Order-Sentences;

1. Some rules how to change declarative sentences into the reported speech:

(The children must say some rules and write them into the table on the blackboard)

  • Change the subject;

  • Change the predicate;

  • Change the pronouns if you need;

  • for example: Aktore: “I like winter”.

Karina: “My birthday is in April”.

Rita: “I don’t want to be a doctor”.

2. Some rules how to change order-sentences into the reported speech:

(The children must say some rules and write them into the table on the blackboard)

  • Use –to- or –not to- before the verb;

  • Change the pronouns if you need;

  • for example: Jim: “Open the window, please!”

Mother: “Don’t open the window, Bob!”

Nick: “Ton, give me your book, please!”

3. Children have a little test (in the exercise-books) (2 – declarative sentences and 2 –order-

sentences).

  1. Interrogative sentences.

Work in two groups.

Akerke and Alesha are the assistants.

1. They must check the knowledge of the pupils of their groups how they understood the theme

“Interrogative sentences into the reported speech”. The pupils must remember some rules, then

make some sentences together.

2. Alesha and Akerke change their places, then they work in other groups.

3. Checking the task: Ann: “Do you like winter, Bob?”

Ann: “Does your mother like to read love-stories, Bob?”

Ann: “What are you looking for, Bob?”

Ann: “How many parts are there in the UK?”

  1. Reading the text at page 166, ex. 16 “The land and the people of great Britain”.

  2. Answering the questions:

-What is the official name of the state which is situated on the British Isles?

-How else can we name this country?

-How many parts does the UK consist of? What are they?

-What is the capital of the UK? What is the capital of Scotland? What is the capital of Wales? What is the capital of England? What is the capital of Northern Ireland?

-By what is the UK separated from the continent?

- By what is the UK washed?

-Complete the sentences: “Everyone who was born in Britain are…” “Everyone who was born in Scotland are…”“Everyone who was born in Wales are…”“Everyone who was born in England are…”“Everyone who was born in Northern Ireland are…”

-What language do British people speak? What languages do Welsh people speak? What languages do English people speak? What languages do Scottish people speak? What languages do Irish people speak?

The pupils are divided into two groups. Each group (one by one) chooses the question, answers

it and gets some points. If it doesn’t answer the question, other group has a chance to answer the
