Aims: To revise the vocabulary and to teach pupils to use the words and word combinations in their speech.

To form the pupils’ writing, speaking and reading habits and skills.

Pupils will widen their knowledge about the meals of the different countries.

Outline of the lesson


Procedure: Good afternoon pupils. How are you? I’m glad to see you.

How do you like today’s weather? Do you like winter?

Why? Who is on duty today? Who is absent?


Checking up the home task: What was your home task? Who is eager to start?

Warm up: Now, look at the blackboard. First I’ll read the poem, then

You’ll repeat after me together.

What do I like?

I like fruits.

She likes vegetables.

I like cookies.

He likes cheese.

I like coffee.

She likes tea.

He likes milk

And I love you!

Lesson theme: We have spoken and analyzed all the materials concerning to the theme “Meals”. We learned words and grammar materials. So I think you’ll show your excellent knowledge and do your best. Today we’ll continue the previous theme “Eating in Britain and in Kazakhstan.”

First of all tell me the difference between the words “Meal” and “Food”.

Meals” are the breakfast, launch, dinner and supper.

Foods” are meat, hamburger, cheese, bread and etc.

a) OK, let’s check up vocabulary notes. Listen to them very attentively, and then you’ll do some tasks. (Electronics)

Divide the words into following groups:


FRUITS DRINKS FOODS VEGETABLES

b) Good job. The next task is to listen to the text. The title of the text is “Traditional food in Kazakhstan”. About the foods in Britain you had learned at the previous lesson. (Electronics)

c) Now let’s play a game “True or False”:

1 British people eat a lot of meat.

2 Tea with milk is common for British and Kazakh people.

3 Shubat is mare’s milk.

4 Milk products are cheese, katyk, kumis.

5 Onions, cucumbers, potatoes are fruits.


The next is to solve the crossword. If you solve it correctly you’ll guess the theme of the lesson.
